Hey there Bob, best to do one side at a time, it will only take 1-2 hours to cure enough to attack the other side. Also the bottom of the cowl looks to be warped. This is an easy fix. Leave the sections that have the correct line and remove the out of line bits. Then you can correct the lines using the sections that are correct. Unless of course that this is meant to be. And also to keep sections popping up, I use waxed plastic to weigh the sections down. I wish I was there, I could give you a hand but I live in the land down under. Well done on saving the upside down work too.

Nice job on the fiberglass. It is an art, at least it is for me. Have done it before and I just use a lot of cloth and resin and then sand it down afterwards so it works. Catching up on videos still .Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.

Hey Bob, you might appreciate this. I recently bought a fiberglass chopper gun. Its really cool, pull the trigger and it shoots resin, catalyst and fiberglass , bam !! no messing around with cutting fiberglass or buckets and brushes. Here is the point of this post, the fiberglass that you are using has a binder on it. if you are trying to go around a corner the binder needs time with resin on it to relax. When I found out that the fiberglass roving used in a chopper gun doesn't have the binder on it so that it will lay down immediately and not pop up again, I said SOLD SOLD SOLD !!
@geoffreymills99322 ай бұрын
I used to spray with a chop gun, just keep sharp blades on the wheel and don't let the roving bind up in the box and you can spray a 30 foot boathull nonstop

I built a small wooden boat using 1/4" plywood held together with Titebond III Wood glue and a roll of self adhesive fiberglass tape. The tape is used to seal sheets of wall board in houses. It is 2" wide and is made of woven fiberglass screen. Simply join the sections together with the tape and paint the plybond over the tape with a brush. It worked so well that you could do the same thing using Fiberglas resin over that kind of tape and save time and materials. It works especially well when doing corners and edges. Give it a try.

Make paper patterns of your glass, lay it on thin plastic , like a drop cloth, put the glass on it pour the resin over it work it in then flip it over on to your work and work out all the air bubbles let it dry peel the plastic off. Very little mess comes out nicer . IVE DONE A LOT OF THIS keep up the good work.

Try using thin aluminum sheet metal to form a temporary mold to glass against. After the glass gets hard. Just peal it off. The side that was against the aluminum will be smooth.

Years ago I fixed a few corvettes that were pretty busted up and I preferred to work on them in cold weather, it helps to cut down on the itchy feeling. And by the way if you want to ditch making some of the panels and such you could redirect that energy into putting A/C in the Rat Rod. Anyway thats just me, at my age I really like A/C.

On the body line that runs through the body front to rear, are you gonna have to add fiberglass to the front of the body,between the front of the door and hood area?
