Hi Anna; It was a good idea, the luxury bus seat. The privacy was nice allowing you to appreciate the view from the window as well as the bonus view from the front of the bus. Now as for your question about favorite onsen, I'd have to say it was the outside one I visited on a road trip with friends between Kumamoto and Kagoshima. New Zealand is also famous for it's hot springs. Rotorua, Taupo, Queenstown and more. There's also a place where hot spring water comes out if you dig in the sand on the beach. I haven't been to see it myself, though. Have a nice day, Anna!

I love a good bus ride, especially if there's beautiful scenery along the way. How much far in advance do you have to make your reservations to these different places before you travel there and have you already started thinking about where to travel in 2023?

when it comes to this bus, you can book it 1 month before your ride. And sometimes I book a hotel 1 day before I stay xD but for the hotel in Aomori, I booked it in June for October...so it depends on the season/place.

Should you ever come to visit the United States, West Coast... in California there is a very lovely hot spring resort called Harbin that I would recommend you go to. Very beautiful views of the mountains and night sky. The resort is clothing optional.

Favourite onsen area so far: Oboke (central Shikoku area) Hard to get to, so rental car is recommended. The area is beautiful with valleys and cliffs and rivers. It has a cool museum about "yokai", and it has some of the most awesome onsen I have visited so far.

This bus doesn't have any bathrooms since it takes only about 3 hours to get to Osaka. And it stops one time. But usually long-distance bus has one!

The town I visited was less than 2 hours by train from Tokyo. The pink train was called something silly, romantic train, or something. I only spent a day there but I enjoyed the day out very much. Lunch was excellent !

The only structured hot spring I’ve been to was in Montana, it was more like a warm swimming pool. You have to wear swim suits and there’s always lots of hair in it 😬 In New Mexico there’s a hot spring on the side of a river that is really nice. Being in nature while in a hot spring is great, and it’s free! I just wish there weren’t coyotes and scorpions around lol.
