How long of tongs do you use? Is 40” enough for pa and a 6’ person? Also, do you use 48” light tubes or do you shorten them down? What length?

when i was little i used to have nightmares about snakes being in the bed with me . and i had never seen a snake in my life .so yeah im terrified of them . never killed to many tho cause i m to busy runnin. all that snake sees of me is ass and elbow . i hate that about myself because i used to love to go squirrel and rabbit hunting ,but as i got older, the more i feared snakes. been fishing before and had them swim by the boat and it totally freaks me out. used to trout fish but it got so all i would do is look around in fear the whole time. im now 67 and i will not ever get over it . much respect guys

I had a copperhead fall in my lap in the bathroom at work. It fell out of the ceiling around the water pipes. I was hemmed up with it for 2 hrs. Luckily I had my phone with me. I called a wildlife removal service, it finally crawled out under the bathroom door and curled up in the corner of shipping. What a experience.

Thanks for your video on timber rattlers. I am in my 70's now and I can recall fishing with my Dad in my early teens back in the early1960's in Cannan Connecticut one morning. We were walking along the trail and came across 2 coiled up gray colored very large timber rattlesnakes that were next to each other. I can still here my Dad telling me to just leave them both alone and we kept walking along the fishing trail. Looking back now, even though my Dad was an avid hunter and fisherman he respected the rattlesnakes as they have a true purpose in God's plan, even though at the time most people would have killed both of them without question.

The photography in this video is stellar. As a very young child and until my mid twenties our family went to Potter County every summer. I always loved seeing all the wildlife, the occasional bear, bobcat, fisher, and of course a rattlesnake. I even saw a mountain lion once, but yeah, I know there are no mountain lions in PA. I am 69 now and my sister and I are going to visit Potter County in a few weeks. I can't wait to be reminded of all the memories we made while in the wilds of PA. I enjoy watching your videos, they are very educational.

They make me nervous, but I don't hate them. People who hate them need to address their phobias, because they're being irrational. Not the snake's fault that you're a chicken. That's my 2 cents. Snakes are imperative to a healthy ecosystem. They keep the rodent population under check that causes so many diseases in people and in other animals. I don't love snakes, but I love watching them and I respect their purpose and right to life.

Being that we hit the woods in late September to go watch the elk, Your videos remind us to wear our snake boots and avoid the large rock out crops if we want to avoid them. Not saying its not possible to wonder across a traveling snake heading back to the winter den area. Glad to see you guys out enjoying what Pennsylvania has to offer. I don't get on here much. but thanx for the video. it was better than i expected - to find online. i guess its the normal now. thanx to my RR job i did have to finally travel outside GA. so we found 5-6 snakes in dam near all the eqmt shelters when they made us go up to PA. i was amazed at how hilly it was. and farmlands. so. thanx. just amazing to have people specialize in snake catching or just finding them up there. not surprised there are so many. down in S GA there are a lot of places like that. but never have i seen them in your environment - rocks like that. awesome

well around blairsville, there was an expected snake in every shelter. 5-6 was on maybe every 3rd one we opened up and looked in the back. but i'd say there were more snakes in PA than i encountered in GA. lol never appreciated the black face vs yellow face until now. but its been 20 yrs since i've caught a rattlesnake. i just find rat & brown snakes in the burbs of atlanta

Were you possibly near Quehanna? I thought I recognized a few areas. My family has been hunting that area for almost 100 years. (Great Grandfather, Grandfather, Father, Myself...) They had a camp off of Losey and lost it when Curtiss-Wright leased all of that area in the 50’s. Once they reopened the area my Grandfather bought another camp and it’s been in our family for over 55 years. Great memories and it is still absolutely my favorite place to be. The elk have brought a lot of tourists, which is good and bad I guess. We had one rattler at our camp last month and another on the road about 1/4 mile from it. Great video! *subscribed!

At the time was was upland bird hunting in South Dakota 30 & 35 years ago,, where I literally I stepped on the snakes, didn't see them, there was no rattle until after the bite!! Nevertheless, I didn't kill the snakes, afterall, I was trespassing on their turf! Both were Western Diamondbacks, the 2nd one was huge, but absolutely gorgeous!

I have seen guys already do this. Some have put it on a timelaspes and get all the snakes coming out of the den. it would be something cool but other people do know about the spot someone may take the camera.

Is there a video explaining what you are hunting them for? Is it eating? Or to get the skin? And how big is big enough?

No wonder there are less snakes in Pennsylvania. A lot of rattlesnakes are already threatened enough with the loss of their habitats
