I honestly don't think you're trying to lie, so I'm going to be nice how I say this. 1. You're trying to compare teens today with teens 150 years ago. It's called 'presentism' (applying today's standards with past events) and it's what weak minded fools do. 2. From 1830-1860 the average age of women getting married was 20.7. 36% were ages between 14-16 years old. Don't tell me this didn't happen because both my grandmothers, great-grandmothers, and great-great-grandmothers were married at 12. 3. There is no DNA provable evidence that the Prophet Joseph had children with anyone other than Emma. In an age with "0" birth control this almost guarantees that he wasn't having sexual relationships with any of these other women. There was one case-- Josephine Lyons Fisher-- that was disproved in 2013. 4. Joseph only had 1 legally married wife, the rest were religious sealings.So it does not matter if these women were married to others, as it was a purely religious act. Next time you should talk with an LDS person that knows their religion, you'd learn something... oh and by the way I'm not LDS.

At the time that the Lord told Joseph to take these women in to his family was to provide support for them and their children. It included even the men of some of these women. It was to establish a Family of Christ so that worthy members of the Church had support when their means of support was lost. They were legally adopted in and took the Smith name so that they could be heirs. When doing historical research it pays to dig deep and get an understanding of the times they lived in. And by the way, I was not a member of the church when I learned this and I was not allowed to join the church until I reached the age that I could legally leave my father's home. However, he nor my mother had objections even though they knew little about the church. they still honored my decision and I caught my father reading my notes in my scriptures. It is much better to be safe than sorry. Never jump to conclusions without study; that way you will never find yourself in hot water. When you do, it is time to make lemonade, deep breathe, and look for rest in the good book.

Hmmm......Jacob married Leah and Rachel who were sisters both daughters of the same father. So if we are to conclude that Joseph wasn't a prophet because he married mom and daughter where Levitt us says not to should we not also conclude Jacob (Israel) wasn't a prophet because of the fruits? Daniel Woodward why are you presenting old testament principals BEFORE Christ, to New Testament times AFTER Christ?? Using only the NEW testament, show me anywhere where polygamy is encouraged, practiced or desired. Jesus even said that if a man even LOOKS at another woman with lust that he has already committed adultery. Was Joseph Smith exempt from the 10 commandments? If so, perhaps that is why he was allowed to murder and be labeled a martyr but my bible says that both are wrong and martyrs willingly die for their cause like Stephen who was stoned. No where did Stephen throw a stone back at anyone. Joseph was also arrested for Bank Fraud another crime against the 10 commandments. By his fruits therefore, he can't stand as a prophet. Take some time to understand that the old testament ideas from Leviticus are not applied to today and you are singling out polygamy and nothing else, otherwise I would expect all Mormons to be sacrificing lambs every time they want repentance.

Good grief, this isn't the video to learn about this subject. The study was released a few years ago and LDS F.A.I.R. Polygamy on youtube. has info on it. I've read it and I've listened to the Hales a couple who are experts on these marriages. These people are basically anti-lds folks that have a huge bias and are not going to give the right and entire info out, because they can't, they basically do not understand the times. For instance none of those JOseph married who had husbands, had husbands who complained, these were for the next life, not this one. But for others they could be quite young, or even older than Joseph, there is actually only 1 person who might have had an intimate relationship with joseph, but she bore no children, she went on later to remarry and had 2 children. One was well know to emma and joseph, living in their home with no other family. Emma of course had issues with polygam, but in the end a letter to her grand-daughter stated that she knew the Lord had actually commanded Joseph to do this. And it did bring many more children into this work, and because of it, Utah is still a favorable place to live. About 10 percent or less followed this once they came to Utah, and only a select number did in Navoo, it wasn't for everyone. It was a sealing that took place which meant it was bound here and in the next life. Although we don't read these actually marriges in the bible, at times the Lord did allow polygamy and it was only the concubines he finally told a prophet to tell Solomon to get rid of. People in the 1800's at that were not drive by sex in the way they are now, and sex was normal, but again joseph wasn't drive by it either, time and again there are no dna results with any children other than emma down the line. He was a very good man, he gave himself to the work of the Lord in establishing the restored gospel and he also knew they would take his life for it, people with sexual appetites in the way they describe it are nothing like him. It took several years once the church went to get the study, because these journals didn't have the details of these marriages, and in order to publish the LDS is very careful and will only do with 3 verified details of each one. Here's an example of one marriage, B. Youngs sister older than Joseph said one day, I'm an old spinster nobody will ever marry me, Joseph said, he would and that very dad in the special home they performed these marriages, he married her. Again this was only for a short time, because the Lord knew it would come to a close, or else the US government would have basically destroyed the church. Why don't you go see what this church does for people these days, it's better than what is said here, because there are errors and incinuations and such that are not true. Bian and Laura Hale on youtube have a couple very well done videos on Josephs wives, and those tall tales about poylgamy are also straightened out, if you want more info.

Ok a couple things. I have been a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints and when I first heard these things a couple of years ago it shook my faith. Some things to consider Joseph had no children with anyone but Emma that can be recorded. So he wasn't "messing around" with 14 year olds". There's a lot of questions concerning the husbands of some of the women he "married".Again though no children so no evidence of sex. Not saying it's still not a hard thing to take in but no children. With these in particular also note Mormon doctrine teaches only people sealed by correct authority can remain married after this life and those not married can't receive the highest degree of glory.At least some if not all of those men were not in the church.Also while I will not dispute the records that were found concerning this it is also notable to mention that these were done in secret making many things easy to misunderstand and perhaps interpret wrongly.
