With how fast this CV can cycle attacks... it is just MEAN if positioned well. Constantly on fire, constantly being torpedoed... Battleships can't do anything in that situation.

@@mikkodoria4778 I haven't experienced new control yet, but from what I know, the RTS system requires more skill to manage multiple squadrons at the same time, but high-risk high reward, people told me that CVs were monsters back then. The squadron controlling system requires keyboard( movement) skills while bringing a good cinematic scene of the battlefield. However, it has fatal flaws like can't control multiple squadrons while your squadron you are controlling itself can be shot down because planes don't all attack at the same time. It is very hard to choose which one, I prefer two game modes with a separate control. Or if WarGaming wants a historical-realistic battle, they should make all your squadron attack at the same time like Russian CV, or someway to separate your squad to a safe place before going for a second run.

to get scores like this you need a team of glue eaters on your side to screw things up enough to give you time. your team needs to throw to be able to keep going its a delicate balance . also this ships issue is fighters are useless vs it... putting fighters over a ship to protect it doesnt help as its 1 drop and fighters dont even latch on in time. so as a cv on the other side you cant do anything but spam planes around and hope.

@@Ryan-16 Got it on MVR, with consumables duration upgrade too, seen enemy CV players very surprised when their planes went down almost immediately after entering zone, and the fighter wouldn't despawn while they waited for it. Tho it's mostly ranked/CB build for me, less ships and less area to control.

I don't see the problem here. Soviets were well known for their immense carrier fleet each with incredible striking power. Heck, they basically mastered it by the end of WW2, and developed their naval doctrine around powerful carrier task forces, to the point where their opponents during the cold war actually designed ships specifically to launch nukes against such battlegroups as they had no other way to counter them... No wait... Actually... I think I might have mixed them up with the Americans...

Only at launch so you need to be close to make use of it, after that it's 160 ish knots under boost which is closer to lexington plane cruising speed. They are not the slowest planes we have but outside of that rocket assisted launch they are slow by CV standards.

not as much as you would think, its fast enough to kite most surface ships fairly easily, and any decent carrier player will be in a position where destroyers have to deal with the friends infront of them before you, pretty much only making it vulnerable to BB volleys and enemy cv's, but thats an issue that every T8 carrier gets to deal with so its not like this thing is balanced because it has class inherent weaknesses.

@@KittyFoxKitsune I meant more the planes not the mothership itself. The planes can avoid flak waves and aa by attacking from behind an high landmass. In a plain open map theese planes would die easily. But yeah what you said is also right.

@@mehmetsahsert3284 even in that scenario, these russian planes drop from so far away they literally only spend 2 seconds in flak unless its one of the crazy 7km flak range UK cruisers. AA defense is a non issue when you can just ignore it at that level of interaction. you dodge the one flak burst that happens and then your out, no time for continuous damage to do its job, no time for a second round of flak. One could argue that islands could make the planes worse though because it might not see an enemy ship waiting behind an island as it passes over, in which case then the plane HP becomes relevant.

@@KittyFoxKitsune but after the drop they still have a time zone where they have to reach a safe altitude theese planes are slow and even with hidden menace skill they will still be under continuous aa fire for at least 3 seconds. That is enough to shoot down 2 or 3 of them and remember only skip bombers can drop from far away. Torpedo and dive bomber/rockets are still vulnerable to flak and continuous damage without any terrain

Perfect example of someone who has mastered the art of air strikes but not common really. I am a firm believer that almost all ships in this game can be said to be OP if they are under the control of someone with the discipline and skill like this CV capt is! One thing about it if you get to close to these Russian carriers you are going to have a very bad day! I have been able to navigate my Chkalov into similar close quarters and it becomes a serious beast!

You say that like the lexi would be better than it at long range. It wouldnt, same effect, just slower. lexi will take consistent dmg with little chkalov plane losses, lexi does little dmg with most its planes being lost in its attacks. they just cant compete, theyre not equal, not even close. when was the last time we had a 350k dmg lexi game?

Technically there's still hope. In the armory description they stated "If deemed necessary, balance changes may be applied to the ship". But then again we haven't seen any changes on the recently released premiums so it may take a long while... Or forever.

Ah, nothing like a direct show of powercreep; chkalov this game was constantly attacking and under fire from AA (it must be to have about 280k dmg) and so has the lexington, presumably doing a lot less dmg in the same amount of time. the chkalov vs lexi brawl begins... chkalov does more dmg with planes, from further away, faster, without losing planes to fighter squadrons or to AA. The lexi? 1 strike with each type of aircraft of about 3 planes total before they all die to AA / fighters, then it sends half empty squadrons and then suffers the same fate but faster, whilst barely doing any dmg to chkalov. theyre both tier 8 cvs, they should both be equal. they couldnt be any further from it. Its gross to watch and gross to see WG thought this is how the ship should be when tested by players. I'm starting to think they dont even play the new ships once before they add into the game.
