I'm an engineer and recently got in to Rubik's cubes. I truly admire engineering work behind this masterpiece! Hats off!
@polyglot.basketer9474 ай бұрын
@kyostihuhtala951 The prototype of the Rubik's cube was made of 27 wooden blocks; It took Rubik a month to figure out the solution to the cube problem. Starting with pieces of wood and rubber bands, Rubik set out to create a structure that would allow individual pieces to be moved without the whole structure falling apart. Rubik originally used wood for the cube because of the facilities in the university workshop, and because he saw wood as a simple material to work with, it did not require sophisticated machinery. Rubik made the original prototypes of the cube by hand, cutting the wood, drilling the holes, and holding his invention together with elastic bands. The Hungarian docent Ernő Rubik, showed his prototype to his class and his students really liked it. Rubik realized that the simple construction of the cube made it relatively easy to manufacture and could appeal to a larger audience. Finally, Rubik managed to find a small company that worked with plastic and made chess pieces. The cube was originally marketed in Hungary under the name "Bűvöskocka" and became an instant success worldwide, winning the Game of the Year award several times. Over 350 million Rubik's Cubes have been sold to date, making it one of the best-selling toys of all time.

Genius! The amount of work put into designing it, setting the machinery to print every part, cleaning up the pieces, then assembling the cube itself, not only in a classic timelapse manner, but also in this stop motion that requires so much more time and thinking, truly a work of art! I love it, the cube itself looks really great and pretty good for the pressure of all those layers must exert on each other. 98 pounds? Just wow. I can't wait to see one of my favorite cubers out here getting his hands on it and try it.
