GREAT progress! Wonderful to see those repurposed windows going in. Bit scary that that adjacent tree had already been half chopped through - just as well that you got the arboriste to come and look it over. Let's hope that the weather cuts you an even break in the next few weeks.

To give you an idea - I just had my professional lumberjack out on our property to disassemble and cut down seven large oak trees and trim 15 others. The whole operation was for 3400€ tax included. They came with a couple of trucks, 3 men, a huge cherry picker and a professional wood chopper for a whole day. All the branches and trunks useable for heating were cut in chunks of 50 cm and stocked proper for drying.

In Toronto, Ontario, Canada you’d have to take out a loan to cut all that down! My friend paid $6000.00 dollars to have one tree “pruned”. It is a B I G black walnut.

I had a leak in a metal roof. There is some stuff that you roll on metal camper roofs. You can get metal color or white. I used it and it worked fantastic, put on two coats. No more leaks. 😊😊😊😊

The two trees next to your shed are coppice, and they can all be felled and new trees will sprout from the huge and probably ancient roots or ‘stool’. In a working/industrial woodland you would have oak standards with coppice understory. And the coppice gets clear felled every 15 years. For making hop poles and post and rail fencing. We had foresters come and clear some chestnut coppice for us in uk, and they were charging £300 for 2 people. Love your recycling strategies.

What fantastic progress you’re making on your temporary home! I really love clerestory windows, I think they are totally underutilized in today’s architecture, lol. While you were clearing the ivy from the Barbwire fence, you mentioned your kitties and not wanting them to get hurt on the barbs. That sounds like they are going to be outdoor kitties? You’re living in quite a rural area, there’s bound to be wildlife large enough to eat kitties for a snack. Maybe consider a catio(cat patio)? Just a thought. You’re doing wonderfully.😊

Yours is one of my favourite videos. Could you manage 2 a week? I have noticed that the more exposure, the more the subs go up. But you are doing so well, in a couple of years you will need video proof of how derelict it was in the beginning because it will be so beautiful. A great report this week keep it up. Wish I was 20 years younger we would be doing the same as the both of you. Have had to slow down as we are both in our late seventies. But life is great as we now live in a bunglow in a very small village in Essex UK. No stairs to climb.

I really like how the shed is slowly and carefully metamorphosing into a tidy ranch house with the clerestory windows at the peak. Very smart idea, the remainder of the roof will create a nice porch area I am guessing. You may not want the space to revert to a workshop by the time you have finished! Well done!

Good evening beautiful people, (Mrs bloke) I know exactly what you mean, around 17 years ago (before I fell ill) I had a 70ft elm tree fall on my home it's was the most scariest thing to ever have happened to me and my 2 young children, it scares me still and when I moved into my new home after I fell ill that was the first thing that I had to check off my list. Your tiny home is really coming along very quickly now, I love the windows along the top it really lets the light flood in and love the idea of the stain glass windows on both ends. Hello, please don't cut up that chestnut tree. It is one of the strongest woods you can work with. See if you can find a local sawmill, they can cut it up to any size you might want. It is a gorgeous wood for paneling walls. It is something for you think about. I love your videos. You are doing such a great job working with the weather you have been having. Take Care

Have you thought about vertical soak aways where you make a 300mm hole as deep as you can go using a post borer then filling it in with coarse gravel the area in front of the 2ork shop will be very compacted f4om all the traffic over the years once you get below the copaced level you may find better drainage good wishesfrom dave n nat
