Hello Ian, I really like your management practices and how everything thing works together for the ranch. The clover is awesome, especially how it helps the bees, cattle, and soil. Thanks for your time.

We don't have cattle, but we did plant a plot of sweet clover. Very thankful to have it through the dearth.

The air is thick with bees, they are really on the hunt for honey. It would be great to get a look at the clover field to see just how much there is in bloom. I hope you get some good rain soon, we are hoping for much the same with inland Australia in a heavy drought. -Kieran

Hey Ian you're not getting no more rain coming through there. Maybe freezing rain but one thing for sure you going to get some snow. Lol

So.... clover? lol I like what you're saying about soil building at the end.. Ever consider some targeted foliar feeds to improve fertility / accelerate photosynthesis?

Our fireweed flow her is almost over, Its the end of summer here in Alaska. I planted a patch of white clover and the bumble bees took it over, The bumbles are now going back into the ground for winter. So mine are starting to hit it regular now.

Yukon Jeff, Ian planted Sweet Clover, Melilotus, not Trifolium. It’s my number one honey plant here in West central Alberta. Blooms til freeze up

on your partial piles that the tarp wont cover, have you tried setting a bee escape on upside down so they cant get in.

Ian, what do you do with those seconds which contain some fresh nectar? You cant harvest it and you cant leave it in the shed in winter because of its humidity. Thank you!

Have been enjoying your videos and am very impressed with your process based approach to your honey business. What do you do with wet frames after extraction? We hobbyists return the wet supers above the crown board to let the colony clean down any remaining honey, then remove the dry supers to storage. Can't envisage that being appropriate to your large - scale operation.

Sweet Yellow and White Blossom Clover. It’s a biennial in cooler climates like Canada. In South Carolina where I live, it blooms in first year.

Even in the news cycle where everything is about the assassination (cough... cough..I mean suicide of Jeffery Epstein) in a jail cell while on 24-hour Suicide Watch, I found the time to break away and enjoy a post from my second favorite beekeeper. Of course i am my own favorite. You don't think that is too narcissistic do you? Hopefully you are getting those widespread rains you wanted this afternoon and this evening (Saturday, August 10, 2019).
