Nice shots. Pity Irish rail don't clean up the line side litter at night when little activity. 😊

nice scenes :) for some reason the pearse station at 8:31 went down the other way instead of the rosslare side. was it suppose to go on the rosslare side? or did it go down the other side for a reason?

Sorry, I have no idea. I was just concentrating on holding the camera steady. I wasn't checking train details or taking notes.

Its for the signal overlap. This happens when a train is signaled into platform 5 at the same time that a train is leaving from platform 6. The train on 6 has to take the right hand route. It can only take the left route if the train on 5 has come to a complete stop.

Doesnt seem to be any use of electrification.

Not much of the network is electrified. Trains going further away from the city are all diesel. They are due to be electrified soon though.

Thanks. You ask the same questions for each video I publish and I can only answer for Athenry, where I live. Being retired, I am not a frequent rail traveler. I am not a regular visitor to Connolly station so I do not know if it was particularly busy or not. Considering it was prior to the evening rush, it seemed fairly busy to me. I left Connolly at about 16.10, so I imagine it would have been very busy an hour later. I might go up another day when I have more time and get some videos of the Belfast trains.
