I too ordered a Rubicon Recon when they became available in February this year, I absolutely love it! I did notice though the winch is a VR8 and not a VR8-S... since it has a steel cable it should have a roller fairlead. That fairlead is designed for a synthetic rope, not steel cable! just a heads up

Crazy build !! I was wondering would stock fenders rub terribly with 35" tires w/ no lift?
@segt997 жыл бұрын
I have a similar build. I have a 2015 Rubicon JKU with stock suspension and 35" tires. I have Bushwacker flat fenders, 4.75" offset wheels as well as Spidertrax 1.25" wheels spacer (The wheel spacer is only needed in my case so I can turn lock-to-lock without rubbing the frame.). The only downfall to a set-up like this is you aren't going to fully flex it out without contacting the fenders while disconnected.
Just had one built....AWSOME RECON....................................COOL,LONING IT.

Thanks! Congrats on your build!

Wondering why you didn't mention the Recon comes with a 1/2" lift and the crawl ratio on it with a manual. The upgraded Dana 44 with forged parts and forged differential covers and upgraded Rock rails.

We just knew someone out there would mention it for us :)

Anyone know if the fenders must be changed for the 35's to clear? Thanks
@Kunescountryvideo7 жыл бұрын
AGlock23 To be able to fully flex without rubbing you need the fenders. The wheel and tire specs are just as important.
@AGlock237 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the response. Another question... running 35's does not require re gearing to maintain power? Thanks
@Kunescountryvideo7 жыл бұрын
We usually recommend 3.73's or higher for long term reliability, but many people say the stock gears do fine.

@RS-io6vm6 жыл бұрын
well this is a Rubicon so it's stock with 4:10 gears which is good....other jeeps don't have those gears so these tires would make you upgrade your gears for a properly built jeep.
@saracooper63405 жыл бұрын
some Recon are actually 3.73, definitely recommend 4:10 or 4:56 for 35" tires if you're doing anything remotely technical. Still decent mileage (for a jeep). So far as performance, stock 32" tires with 3.73 = 35" with 4.10 gearing. 4.56 will give more control when crawling.

you put all that weight and no sag ,35 inch tire and its all good on rubbing give us more details
@Kunescountryvideo7 жыл бұрын
The aluminum fenders are very light and the bumpers just aren't enough to make it sag. Keep in mind that some wranglers come stock with steel bumpers with no problem. It's really about finding the perfect specs for the wheels and tires to acheive this. Feel free to email Marcos at marcos.perez@kunescountry.com if you'd like more info. Thanks for watching.

I have a 2017 Rubicon Recon and it comes with steel fenders that accept a winch and the end caps are removable making the front bumper a stubby. The rear bumper already has a hole to set up a swing arm tire carrier.

Alotta ppl wana run stock height with big tires because they dont want to deal with suspension lifts an some of the probs that are related to having them.They arent cheap,then if yu need ball joints,tie rods,drag links alignments.It gets really spendy,thats without rims and tires soooo....
@flow2tech6 жыл бұрын
Ahoohi Been on a 3 inch for 4 years now.. Never needed any of that.. The kit came with geometry correction brackets and it has been flawless.. My kit was only $850...Its when you stsrt going higher that it gets spendy

looks nice, but I just don't like 20 inch wheels on a jeep. I'm old school and hate all that bling bling a lot of people want nowadays. Painted flares are a no no. I had a 2012 2 door basic sport, with hard top, power door and window. I sold it because of new baby, but in 3 years I'm buying myself a 2 door basic rubicon with soft top, no power nothing, manual transmission. You know, I'm not rich, I only make 50k a year so money is not something I have in excess. I want to keep my Jeep cheap for a someone poor like me, plus a clean jeep is not a jeep, is gonna get scratch. My old one was always full of dirt and mud and all scratch but to me they were scars of battle. jeep should sell a hard core rubicon but basic, no luxury. even if I were rich I would not want leather and all painted. 2 door basic all the way (when I was 7 I saw the first Jurassic park with the 2 door basic jeep and felt in love ever since, to me 4 doors are just hummers)
