I'm playing on my Wii that has backward compatibility using an adapter called Wii2HDMI ($10-$15). Highly recommended! Then I set my 4K TV configuration resolution to 4:3 for that specific HDMI port. Finally set the Wii configuration to HDTV 480p (progressive), change to 4:3 aspect, and choose progressive scan when Melee game prompts. Hope it helps ant thanks for watching!
