Still riding my 88 Ultra every day. But would love a modern one with suspension - in that colour!

I am also the lucky owner of a 1989 Ultra, that I restore completely stock. 🙂

Mouth-watering it is! I want one too except for one very minor caveat: please get rid of the pink on the fork
@ld25102 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The pink of the fork is actually stock: the fork is a special edition made for the anniversary of the first Rock Shox RS-1. This one was also pink

@@ld2510 I'll withdraw my remark in that case :-)

Really cool build!! Congratulations! What's the travel of that RS-1 fork? Your friend that has the sid has 100 or 120mm of travel? I'm planning build one, and despite the frame geo was based on a 120mm fork, I was considering using a 100mm fork I have in my spare box, altought the 20mm lower BB and steeper head angle might make the bike feel weird or wrong.
@ld25102 жыл бұрын
Actually it is one of the rare 130mm versions. And I added an 8mm offset underneath the steerer tube to slacken the steering angle even further: I built this frame more as a Trail bike and not an XC one. It is the beauty of this frame, you can build it as you want 😊

Thanks for sharing -- Beautiful frame, have been looking for one but everyone seems out of stock! What size is you frame and how tall are you?
@ld25103 жыл бұрын
Hello, Indeed hard to find. I am 1m78 and frame size is M. A friend of mine has à site L for 1m86
@ssmith9543 жыл бұрын
@@ld2510 Thanks! I'm 1m80 and undecided between an M and an L! I plan to use the bike for x-country/bikepacking.
@ld25103 жыл бұрын
@@ssmith954 I chose an M Size targeting more a Trail/Hardtail Enduro usage. So for XC and Bikepacking. With 1m80, a short stem should be OK with a size L. Ideally you should try one out...
