Thinking outside the domino box is what it's all about here. This year, the Dutch Domino Team takes on the challenge of portraying a fictional story in dominoes. After a full year of preparations and two weeks of building over 350,000 dominoes with 13 dedicated builders, we proudly present this year's domino event: "Road To Fame: Emma's Story".
The story goes as follows (spoilers!):
Emma Smith is a 20-year-old Dutch girl who loves singing. After going viral from a marketplace performance, she joins a talent show, which she then proceeds to win. Emma gets the chance to move to America and sign with a major record label. She scores her first number one hit and her follower count skyrockets.
But then, on the day of her 21st birthday, Emma is driving home completely sober in her new car, when she nearly hits a woman with a baby stroller. Luckily nobody is hurt, but the news spreads like wildfire and rumors start taking over reality. People call her an alcoholic and a road killer because of these rumors.
Emma decides to take a break from it all and goes back to where it all began: the marketplace in the Netherlands. In her year-long sabbatical, she meets a guy, Niels, who is also a singer and guitar player. They grow closer and closer as the year passes by. Then, a documentary is made : “Emma’s story”, which finally tells everyone the truth about what happened at the night of the accident. The rumors are cleared up and people start liking and respecting Emma again.
Then finally, when she and Niels get to play on a huge festival a bit later on, Niels asks her to marry him.
And they lived happily ever after...
