What I love about your vids is the thorough breakdown from the producing side of things and what it takes to make it happen. Plenty of lighting channels around and on Patreon but this side of things is always skipped.

Thanks for making the content Scott. Been a bit of a generalist filmmaker over the last decade and have recently ended up in house at an agency doing similar work with access to higher budgets. After discovering your channel and seeing similar workflows/ standards it's reassuring me that I'm on the right path. All these insights are incredibly useful, looking forward to seeing more.

You’re very welcome James! There’s definitely and some times annoyingly not just one path in this industry though. Where ever you go it always ends up leading to somewhere else interesting later down the line :)

As someone who works as a performing musician, but very often has to play the producer/co-director role in making extreme budget music videos, this is a super duper helpful look into a world I know very little about. Seriously, being shown the breakdown of usual costs and which roles are useful to fill/needed to be filled gives me such a "ah-hah!" moment. I am absolutely going to subscribe - thanks

This is interesting. It just goes to show how many moving parts there are (or aren't) in a production, how a director without a producer ultimately has to keep track of it all, and then stay calm in the process. It also shows how relationships are key to hiring people and finding those good working relationships. I appreciate the info and break down.

Looks great. This was all too relatable. Always difficult when you feel like you are putting yourself through the grind only to realise its for the financial benefit of a company who can afford it. Definitely not easy turning down work but having done it a lot recently, it's massively rewarding in the preserved headspace!

Thanks for another great bts vid! Your style is very relaxing. BTW how are you getting that glow off your white shirt and face in the talking heads? Gives it a very dreamy feel. Is it a physical filter?
@ScottPetersFilms2 жыл бұрын
You’re welcome mate! I probably went to heavy on the filter, would have probably been a 1/2 ProMist or 1/2 glimmer normally when I shoot these. Occasionally I shoot them clean

Amazing Video, as a pro in the US I am not familiar with a crew position called Sparks, what do they do on set?

Would they just be called an electrician on set there? Working under the gaffer in the lighting department.
