They could say crank vs wheel if they actually wanted to be clear but 3500hp works better for click bait than just 3000hp. Otherwise why not say the WHP in the title. I went to school for Dyno tuning and actually have plenty of time on a Dyno doing fuel/ignition/boost tables. But Gee thanks for explaining that to me because I clearly had no clue. Smh

It's relevant when you're trying to compare it to stock GTR horsepower. That ~500hp drivetrain loss alone is about what a stock GTR is rated at.

What benefit do you have from that? I know americans love their "HP before drivetrain" but if you really think about it for road cars it's pretty irrelevant because every car has drivetrain losses and you can't utilize all that power. On 4WD drivertrain loss will be higher although the traction will be much higher. In Europe every, and I mean EVERY car manufacturer uses HP at the wheels. This number is most relevant in combination with Torque and number of powered axles. So yeah, nobody cares about HP at the crank... maybe in racing but whats the point. what does that number contribute!? I've also seen HP at Crank as a typical american marketing figure just so you can put a higher number. After all it's pretty pointless what your engine makes if you can't put it on the road.
