I grew up in Pennsylvania not too far from Lancaster. I love Lancaster. My granddaughter is getting married next year in Lancaster. Excited about seeing that place again. Has to be 40 years since I been there.

OH MY GOSH. My husband and I were there all day today (Wednesday) we live 2.5 hours away in Maryland and go there about 4 times a year! Love their farm stands for fresh eggs, veggies and the QUILT SHOPS!!! It’s a great day trip for us! We never go into Lancaster city…we just go all around the back roads to see the farms, little schoolhouses, Amish buggies and all their hidden gems(shops, farm stands,bakeries). So relaxing. And yes, it’s fine looking for the covered bridges.

@ awww. You’re sweet. I’m thankful I have husband who doesn’t mind driving me all around. We love Bird in Hand area…the bakery and shops!! Get a Whoopie Pie!! Eat at the Tavern on Lincoln Highway rt 30. It’s the temporary place for the Bird in Hand Restaurant (it’s rebuilding because of a fire).

I am from Holmes County in Ohio, and I truly miss everyday since relocated to another state, it's a layed back place and it has a largest amish settlement there, you will love bridges, buggy ride
