Beautiful healthy looking peppers. You could take the plant indoors. Somewhere warm and access to light. It would survive and you can return it to the tunnel next year. Peppers are perennials and will live for years.If you take the plant indoors it will continue to fruit. Check daily for white fly. I spry every few days with water,washing up liquid and garlic mixture.

Hello and thanks for the suggestion. I think I would struggle brining them in sadly as for some reason pepper plants make me sneeze incessantly. Good idea though.

You can cut small holes in the black plastic and plant squash plants in there that way the foliage will cover all the plastic and give you an amazing crop come autumn 🙂

Brilliant idea Gavin. I will definitely try that out.

Hi Mags - I love the idea of breaking up some of the plastic with flower pots BUT remember that it’s impermeable and unless you pop some drainage under the pots, you may find them getting waterlogged as they stand in the water rolling down the plastic. Possibly just elevate the base of the pots if you don’t want to damage the plastic.

Hi Donna. You are absolutely right. Well observed, thanks. I will make sure I put some prevention in place. All the best. Mags

Wow, I absolutely love the squash you’ve grown. I’m going to try grow them next year I think. Those Gladioli are stunning. I really like the colour of them. It’s all looking great, you have lots growing. That’s a good job you’re doing with the Ivy etc, hopefully it won’t take too long to die off. Have a great week ☺️

Hi there and thanks. It has been a job to beat the garden into submission - parts of it at least - but it was mostly enjoyable. More to do but I hope next year will be easier as a lot of the infrastructure is in place. I was pleasantly surprised with the gladioli I have to say. I haven't tried the squash yet but hopefully they will be lovely.

Congratulations on 2k Mags 🎉🎉. We had as you know a super hot and sunny summer Mags and my tomatoes were not as prolific this year and ripening was a huge issue. My Sungold were good but like your not prolific either. But onions look massive so we have to take the good with the bad as gardeners. Cut the mashed potato squash in half roast with butter and scoop out to eat. I know Cherie the English Lady cooks hers in the microwave (cut in half I think 🤔). We still have cabbage whites but it is 6c overnight and morning so hopefully most are done. Hopefully your winter veg all do well. Have a fab week hope it’s a good one, Ali 🥶🌞🇨🇦

Thanks Ali. I'm very happy to have reached 2k. Great suggestion for cooking the squash. Will have a bash soon. I don't usually have so much winter veg in so it will be interesting to see if they survive let alone thrive. You are right - we do have to take the bad with the good. There is always next year. Take care. Mags

Thanks Mags. I enjoyed your video. My harvests of tomatoes and peppers were pretty much the same as yours. I'm pretty disappointed compared with the harvests from previous years. Only thing I'll be planting over winter is garlic. Fingers crossed for a decent harvest next year. 🤞

Hi Mags. Sorry you are in the same boat as me with your Toms. Lets blame the weather and look forward to success next year. I will be putting in garlic and elephant garlic too. Still waiting on it being delivered though. I will put in one ot two of this years garlic as well. Take care. Mags

Hi Mags, your garden is looking amazing, you have worked wonder with it, when you look back to how it was when you first moved there. Ive done well with tomatoes this year but they have struggled to get ripe and I still have plenty of green ones. My French climbing beans have finished now and they are disappointing, I did get some but not in the quantities as usual, but I sowed some dwarf beans and they are full of flowers but it might be too late to get beans from them, I'll leave them in and see if the weather is kind for a bit longer. The marking on your pepper is called corking and is usually seen on some chillies, they will be OK to eat, they just don't look great but added to a sauce you won't notice the marks.

Thanks so much Liz. I'm glad you can see a difference. It has been such hard work to get where I am with lots more to go. It is never going to be a show garden, it is more a farm or market garden with the fruit and veg, chickens and quail but that's fine by me. Thanks for the corking info. Sorry to hear about your climbing beans. I also have dwarf beans in flower. Fingers crossed we get a harvest. I'm also waiting patiently for my greek gigante beans. I hope to get a good crop there but time will tell. All the best. Mags.

Hi Mags I notice you have blossom end rot on your tomatoes. I did not get one bad one. Thank God. In my pots I did put a half a cup of Dolimitic Lime with my soil. Please try it next spring😊
@mygardenanddinosaurs2 ай бұрын
Hi Claire. Yes I had/have loads of BER. I did put on CalMag - a calcium magnesium supplement but to no avail. I will look up the Dolimitic Lime though and try with that next year. Take care. Mags

Can you make a tiered effect with slate or logs?
@mygardenanddinosaurs2 ай бұрын
Good idea Ali. I would just need to cut some step areas I think. Food for thought.
