I gave Karl a ride home from a small gig in Colorado when I was an Uber driver. We chatted about old school metal and punk bands and guitars. He was super humble, chill, and polite. It was only after I went home and looked him up that I realized he's a punk rock celebrity. Cool guy!

I don't have depression of the bipolar type, but I personally relate to everything these guys discuss. I'm a survivor yet I've alienated a lot of decent people by way of suddenly upsetting them with what are essentially demons of my own psyche. There comes an age bracket of which old friends understandably don't want to reconcile because they're in pursuit or upkeep of happiness, and they understandably aren't willing to gamble the fruits of their toil on someone who metaphorically, suddenly kicked them in the balls, however long ago. I'm a "washed-up musician" who hasn't pleased myself as far as a catalogue of songs (which are definitely in me) and satisfying myself with recordings albeit for my own archives. Sure, that's not the same artistic outcome for these truly exceptional artists, but the fundamental passion to be creative and expressive is no different. I now also have physical disabilities which hinder me from simply being a musician; the void in my life is tremendous. These days I have to rechannel my creativity for ways to give me worth and rational hope.

The show at seattle sailor’s union hall was with the toadies. Have the screened poster to which Bill said “that’s not us” and added a giant fart to the old man angel baby. My car had its gas siphoned during the show. Good times!
