If you watched my video from Lisbon last year you'll know the local thieves wanted my Leica cameras. You all gave lots of great comments about how to keep safe street photography so I took some ideas on board. (1) Take lens expensive gear. Tick. I packed my Nikon F3, Nikon FE2, Nikkor 180mm f2.8, Nikkor 55mm f2.8, Voigtlander 58m f1.4 as my main kit. (2) Don't travel alone. Tick. Patreon Thomas joined me from The Netherlands. (3) Try to avoid the known trouble hotspots. Tick-ish. We booked accommodation in seemingly a better area and tried to avoid certain parts I knew were not the best last time. (We did accidentally walk into a questionable for streets but turn straight back as soon as we realised). (4) More stealthy camera bag. Tick. I swapped from my Billingham bag to my more casual looking Wotancraft Pilot 3.5L canvas bag.
On a more positive note Lisbon street photography is amazing! The light, geography and ..trams all make it more inspiring for me to take photos (despite being a model photographer normally). I feel my videos are often very info heavy so I wanted to make a POV street photography video in Lisbon where I could share the photos and let you enjoy the sounds of the streets.
