Hi Roger! Thank you for taking the time to make these videos! There is no other channel like yours on the web. It inspires me to hopefully make room for an enlarger one day. Please keep it up.

Wonderful video! It was great that you brought us along for the whole adventure from the pre-visualization all the way to the final framed print. I really like the print! I also appreciate your relaxed approach to the whole thing; it's welcoming to guys like me who are just getting into wet printing

WoW ! That takes me back to 1951 when I started at East Ham Grammar School Photo -Soc -- most of us had old Box Brownies but one 'Rich Kid' whose Dad owned a Chemist's Shop had a Braun Paxette 35mm and we all looked at it in awe!

Nice work. I've just bought a Super Paxette and some enlarging / printing kit. Your video is not only a very useful practical guide on how to go about the task of shooting with a 65-year-old camera but just as valuable for me is your relaxed 'can do', give it a go attitude. I haven't developed a photo of my own for 40 years but I'm inspired to make a late comeback! Thanks.

Good luck David. I asked the guy who gave me that camera how he uses it back in the day. Infinite and go he said. 😁

Love this video. My grandpa was stationed in Germany in the 50s where he purchased a Paxette. The camera was just passed down to me. Super inspired by your video. Thanks!

Fantastic, especially using a camera that’s older than me.

Great video. I have a super paxette which is basically the coupled rangefinder version of the same camera. I ran into the same problem with rewinding. I think they must have used either proprietary film canisters or the slight redesigns in the film canisters over the decades make it so the rewind nob doesn't catch the spool inside to rewind it. If you want to use it again in future I suggest doing what I have and just remove the film in a darkbag or in your darkroom and you will have no problems at all. The paxettes actually have pretty decent lenses and I love how compact and well made they are.

Hiya Roger, Great video, Can you explain your process for stand developing? you mentioned developing for 3 hrs? how did you come to that timing and dilutions? what temperature did you dev at and what if any agitations did you need to do?. I was looking to start using the stand dev technique, but unsure how to go about it, a lot of photographers seem to have there own way which is not very helpful. I only shoot 35 mm so would be using standard 1 reel patterson tank or 2 reel patterson tank for 2 rolls of film 300ml or 600ml water, probably stick to using Rodinal. Nice picture by the way. Thanks

Hi Roger, another good and well educational video, even if "some years" old. But let me ask a question. I am puzzled with pushing and pulling, related development times, stand development gives more or less contrast or grain than other.... Not sure did you ever do a video, explaining the context? Or may be where to look after, or could that be a video idea? Anyhow thanks for your always good content. Keep on going. BR, Klaus
@ShootFilmLikeaBoss4 жыл бұрын
Have a look at the "massive dev chart" they have times for your developer, film and speed. It'll tell you how long to develop a particular film in a particular developer and for how long. Does that help?
@massapix4 жыл бұрын
@@ShootFilmLikeaBoss Thanks. After some thoughts about the MDC, i do now better unterstand. Different ISO values show pushing and pulling. Last open is now contrast influence of Rodinal in relation to water. Thanks

omnesilere Thanks for that. I've always understood more agitation / increased develop times increases contrast.

why do the Brits prefer loud music in their vids?
@Otokichi7864 жыл бұрын
"Loud music"? You haven't heard loud music until you play a "Chieftain" "outside and inside" military tanks video. In addition to being "played at 11," the music is/was repetitive. Still, the "OMG the tank is on fire! How fast can I get out?" segment is very interesting.;)
@fredricknietzsche73165 жыл бұрын
old vintage cameras rarely shoot faster then nominal. 300 might be closer to 250 ie plus one stop not two. .02 worth
