So when do they take on Oracle?
@grendelum5 жыл бұрын
Just a tip *@America’s Cup* so you don’t spoil who won next time... you have to upload races 7-9 even if it’s just a repeat of 7 with a thumbnail like all t’others. Sumo channels do this if a playoff match could happen, the video length is always long regardless if the playoff match happens or not so as to not spoil it.
@DavidN812245 жыл бұрын
Fair point, but it was completed a long time ago. It's not like people don't know who won. Seems like it would clutter the channel a little. Last thing I want is for people to think sailing is unprofessional and don't know when they're uploading the same race

Artemis would have beaten USA as well.

@Angelous Bacon Yes, it's called speed. Sweden should have won race 4 against NZ. That incident at mark 6 where Sweden was penalised was a wrong decision by the umpires. That was the best race of the whole regatta. They deserved to win that. But they crumbled under the pressure sometimes. GBR were fast to, but unstable at times. NZ had it over everyone with the pedal power leaving the foils to Tuke and the sail trim to Ashby. It's very puzzling why Spithill got so many starts wrong with the software Oracle was capable of providing.
@stefanzzz67784 жыл бұрын
I think so too. Artemis gave NZ far more competition than oracle.

What was the wind speed in that race?

Thanks for the uploads. Will you be uploading the USA vs NZ final?

The previous holder of the cup has locked the videos away. Pretty poor sportsmanship. Something very wrong with the previous holder of the cup.

@Angelous Bacon Yes, normally. The prior race wasn't started for the same reason.

Is there any end to the asskissing of the Artemis boat by this media ? Someone needs to tell them their demigods actually lost. Artemis is a " de facto second American boat. "
@infiniteblue4345 жыл бұрын
How did the good ol Yanks go then pal? Even with an Aussie skipper they were hopeless. Artemis ,with an Aussie skipper,was way faster than Oracle
@mitchand93 жыл бұрын
The kiwis had an Aussie skipper too.

Was not a very enjoyable race to watch. The New Zealanders obviously had a more technically advanced boat (cyclists powering the hydraulics), and it was like watching an F-1 car versus a NASCAR vehicle. Though the speeds are exciting IMOCA 60 races are more fair and suspenseful.

@@philbyd I will accept that, but the cycling seems to more advantageous than hand cranking.

groovydoo maybe,but in this race the Swedes were out sailed imo
@zaksol70225 жыл бұрын
@@groovydoo every team thought about the cyclors but we're sceptical,the new zealanders were the only team to take the Gamble and it paid off.it was to late for the other teams to change their setup to cyclist's which also required months of fine tuning & development.i guess the nzers made the right call and it paid off. Look at the Americans they thought about it they had one cycle on their boat but it was useless.
