This race was the first race of the finals for the 2017 Louis Vuitton Challenger's Trophy. Team New Zealand won this series and challenged USA for the 35th America's Cup (also in 2017). There are Wikipedia pages for both events.

keith brown my understanding was they were delaminating in the final rounds. Team boss Grant Dalton implied they were nursing them in the finals against oracle

Commentators are obviously half in the bag. the boundary protest was deemed no penalty. Both missed it and the producers too. at @9:49

Actually, if you look in the bottom left as the Swedes go over the boundary, the Swedes register a protest, presumably claiming NZ forced them into the boundary. That's what the No Penalty flashing up was referring to, the umpires denying the protest. The boundary penalty was a penalty.

@@delmarae100 Make a 2nd class. Call it the Boring class. Then have the actual america's cup with 90' monohulls. oh and the sport isnt in danger ....remember its been going since 1848. There no end to Billionaires who sail...or think they sail.
