Fun Fact about Mars's name meaning "Tuesday" in certain languages. This isn't really a coincidence, as the names of the days of the week come from classical planet names in a great number of languages, including, interestingly enough, Japanese and English. As far as I'm aware, in Japanese, the names are pretty much one-to-one. However, in English, the names generally take a roundabout manor of finding the origin, as some of the planets were equated to their Roman god name, then the day named after a similar Germanic god. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday kept their original meanings, though, with Saturday being based off of Saturn, Sunday being based off of the Sun (which was once considered a planet), and Monday came from the Moon (also considered a planet). In terms of the others: Mars -> Tyr -> Tuesday Mercury -> Odin (AKA Woden) -> Wednesday Jupiter -> Thor -> Thursday Venus -> Frigg -> Friday

I wonder if Legends Arceus might be 7 (or 6) generations before Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, I think this due to Professor Rowan, like you said his name in Japanese is Nanakamado while his ancestor is just Kamado. Nana can mean 7 in Japanese, so perhaps other than being the tree reference it can also be read as Kamado the 7th

Well, from my understanding, Diamond/Pearl/Platinum could be considered more or less early 2000s, and due to the time line that Legends Arceus is taking place in, which is the mid to late 1800s (1850s to 1890s basically), and each Generation is basically anywhere between 10 to 20 years, you'd be wrong with a guess of 6 or 7 Generations, as there has been 7 previous Generations since 1910s, and including the current generation, that means there are 8 generations since 1910s. So, it would be more accurate to say the game takes place roughly 12-15 generations ago, if not up to 17 generations ago. And yes, it does take place during the mid to late 1800s as that is when similar events on the island Sinnoh is based off of happened in real life. During the mid to late 1800s, Japan was basically exploring Hokkaido, figuring out the locations resources, fauna, flora, and even settling the area. That is also when they changed the name of the island to Hokkaido. So, yeah. There you have it.

I'm assuming you mean generation as in "Baby Boomer" "Millenial" "Gen Z" etc, but the OP likely means generation in the sense that a child is 2nd generation, grandchild is 3rd generation, great grandchild is 4th generation etc. So if we assume that people in Rowan's family were around the ages of 20-25 when they had kids - and take into account that Professor Rowan is 60 at the time of Diamond and Pearl - then 7 generations would take us back around 150-200 years which fits into the time period Legends Arceus is set.

I would say that every Admin in the Team Galatic is named after Roman gods. Mars is easily angered being the god of war; Jupiter has the attitude of superiority in her like SHE controls the Team; Saturn is the more "balanced" memeber taking the leader possition after Cyrus being Saturn the namesake of Chronos, titan of time, who was the leader of all before; Charon is named after the homonimus ferryman of Styx, but his original name is that from Hades, god of the underworld and death and since this god had no conection to the outterworld but the few encounters in Olympus you not batling him is a reference to this inward personality; at last Cyrus named Akagi originally, meaning all sort of things with "red" in it (Since AKA means RED in japanese) but one of those translation is that of "Red future" but the other name for him in other countries is Helio from the god of the Sun being him at the CENTER OF ALL.

I know that it is kind of a joke/nugget of internet culture, but alot of people may not know _why_ Pluto was "demoted". The truth of the story is that Pluto should never have been classified as a planet in the first place, but Astronomers jumped the gun and declared it a planet anyway. Pluto is an object that is a part of the Kepler Belt, basically the asteroid belt but colder and further out. Pluto's sotry mirrors the story of some of the first discovered objects in the asteroid belt. When telescope technology got good enough for people to see the edge of the asteroid belt, astronomers saw new rocks in space orbiting around the Sun and declared them planets. After the first half-dozen or so though, scientists decided to take a closer look at these "planets" and ultimately ended up refining their definition of what makes a space object a planet. Pluto is exactly the same, it just took a while for them to find more space objects in the same region as Pluto, long enough that many people have gotten overly attached to what they learned in grade school.

Actually the truth is that Pluto was classified as a planet because it was discovered by Tombaugh and the Americans wanted recognition of the scientific community and discovering a new planet was a big deal. It was demoted because after the discovery of Sedna and Eris the IAU freaked out that a lot of minor celestial bodies would be classified as planets, so they had to simplified it. Nowadays there is a growing consensus that anything in hydrostatic equilibrium should be classified as a planet, regardless of what body they orbit so Pluto might be reclassified as a planet again. The IAU definition is as artificial as anything else. If it has a spherical shape and it's not a star then it's a planet, simple (and yes that includes our Luna also).
