Spring is a time to relax in nature. When it's warm outside, the sun is shining, the trees are blooming - I want to go on a picnic or into the forest with tents. My tips will help you organize a comfortable outdoor recreation. After all, so many unpleasant things can spoil the mood: annoying insects, rain, wet matches, wet shoes, and much more.
So that mosquitoes do not bite you in the forest, I will show you how to make an insect trap. Make a solution of water and sugar and pour it into a cut plastic bottle. To make a camping washbasin, use a plastic bottle and syringe. To make a camping shower, use a hula-hoop and shower curtain. To make windproof matches, wrap them with toilet paper and string and dip into hot paraffin.
Plan snacks, breakfasts, lunches and dinners for your next backpacking trip with my helpful tips. I’ll show you how to make a campsite fire pit. See also how to make a spoon from a plastic bottle, how to pack eggs on a trip, how to keep drinks cold by making a cooler bag, and how to wash the dishes on the hike.

I think this video did an excellent job of showing one the possibilities.; planting the seed, if you were. Now it's up to the audience to use, discard, or modify the hacks to fit their needs. Personally, I see quite a few of these that I can use at home. And above all, she was kind enough to share it with us. I for one, am grateful.

The hack for transporting eggs is good - you can freeze them this way. If you are doing egg dishes with cheese or flavors like tomatoes or onions or ham or mushrooms you can add to the egg mix and then there is no need to chop up at the campsite. Transport flour, or rice, or polenta (cornmeal), or dried beans, or oats this way as well

Heidi Ullrich: This is going to sound gross, but as a child my father told me about that. He said that’s what the military taught the GI’s. One square. Fold it into a triangle, then fold it into a triangle again. The corner where the points meet would be ripped off. Then unfold, stick finger thru hole and wipe. When done, pull finger back thru hole thereby cleaning finger. That little corner that was first tore off....that was to clean under the finger nail. I thought he was joking, but if you google “ how to wipe with one piece of toilet paper”, you’ll find the how to videos. 🤦‍♂️🙄

Some great ideas. Unfortunately, most of the starting tools are from things we do not use in my house (plastic pop bottles, hypodermic needles, etc.). But really, some great ideas. I already have products to help with most of the things mentioned (like the egg carrier you can even find in Walmart's camping section), but the camp washing machine was a hoot, as was the hula-hoop shower.

I like the reflectix in a cooler idea. With mine I bought a small styrofoam cooler 1/2 inch thick for 4 bucks. I cut it in several pieces to the exact size of the interior of cooler including the top and bottom. Then I cut the reflectix like they did in video. I put the foam next to the inside of cooler and put the reflectix on top of that. I taped all the seams with aluminum tape so I wouldn't get leakage and mold. At 4 days I still had ice. At 7 days the ice had melted but the temp of sandwich meat was only 50 degrees. This was in low dew point weather but it was still 78 to 81 degrees. I also did this to start my campfire. I took cotton balls and put a coating of petroleum jelly on them and put them in a ziploc bag. This camping hacks video that has several things I could do because almost all the items needed I already have in the house.

Very clever with the matches! I carry 3 BIC lighters. AND some matches. And one small road flare in the winter in case I need to absolutely, positively start a fire FAST. I would not EVER break eggs before taking them on a journey. In fact, they're good for a few hours out of the fridge if cooked right away, but once cracked, things begin growing in them rapidly. As for palm-sized water bottles, they're perfect for dish soap - no leaks. Gatorade bottles are perfect for storing all sorts of food items. As for the can in a can twig stove, consider using a drill: Drill six large (1/2 inch) holes around the upper edge of the larger can while drilling six small holes in the sides near the base. On the slightly smaller can, drill six small holes in the sides around the base as well. Fill the smaller can with twigs and a dash of methanol. Place into large can and light. Place water pot on can. Control the airflow with a small circle of aluminum foil around the bottom holes in the smaller can. On the makeshift cooler (red), the aluminum needs to be facing outward to reflect the heat back to the outside.

For those that are not skilled at building SUSTAINABLE fires: Butane lighters and a bottle of hand sanitizer, some drier lint and LOTS of dry kindling and tinder to get you going. However much of each wood you think you need...triple that at minimum. For those of us that know how to PROPERLY build a fire, there’s nothing more satisfying than a “one match fire build” And matches are for nostalgia. Love using them, but don’t bet your wet, hypothermic butt on them. Always bring MULTIPLE fire starting sources.

What do you use to edit your video-a laptop or desktop computer? Does it need 16 GB RAM or higher, editing and syncing videos onto KZbin, or does it matter? Do you keep the videos on your computer or store it in the Cloud? Is NVIDIA better or does it matter? I like your site and want to learn. I am looking at getting a new laptop anyways, so I'd like to get one that will help me edit and store videos from my new Yi action camera. Camping and living in the Cascade mountains, I hope to make my own brand of videos on KZbin-gypsy style.Thank you for your time.
