🔔 SUBSCRIBE: bit.ly/MarkWien... Don’t miss new food videos!
NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - Welcome to New Orleans, one of the best cities in the USA for food. Today we’re going on a mixed food tour, eating at a few local Creole plate lunch restaurants, and finishing the day with what is one of the best bites of food in the United States - Drago’s charbroiled flame oysters!
Thanks to Derek Robinson, my brother in law for featuring in this video. He roasts amazing coffee: / dereksips
Li'l Dizzy's Cafe - goo.gl/maps/mX... - When I was in New Orleans, one of the restaurants I was most looking forward to eating at was Li'l Dizzy's Cafe, serving Creole soul food. They use family recipes and they have daily specials that rotate. The day I went, there was fried chicken and smothered okra which I ordered along with a smothered catfish plate. The food was home-cooked tasting and outstanding. Again, one of my favorite restaurants in New Orleans. Price - $14.99 per plate
Frady's One Stop Food Store - g.page/frady-s... - Next up on this New Orleans food tour we headed to Frady's One Stop Food Store to eat plate lunches as well. On this day the daily special was red beans and rice, one of the signature dishes of Louisiana. I got it with sausage, and it was wonderful. Price - $8 per plate
Drago's Metairie - goo.gl/maps/R4... - Finally to end this New Orleans food tour in the USA we headed over to Drago's Metairie, one of the legendary seafood restaurants in New Orleans. They are most famous for their chargrilled oysters, which are grilled over fire, lathered in butter and cheese, and set on fire. They are some of the most amazing cooked oysters you’ll ever eat, and they are without a doubt one of the best bites of food in all of New Orleans and the United States! It’s something you can’t miss when you’re in New Orleans. Price - $23.95 per dozen

I really love the part where Mark asks the person serving him his name. Rashad. He knows that the people that serve up the food he eats have a name. They aren't nameless. It's this human touch that Mark brings to his food journeys that make him so special. Thank you Mark, Ying and Micah for taking us all on your food journeys across the world. And thank you city of New Orleans for showing us all your amazing food and hospitality.

Same here! You can see the young man's face light up when Mark asks him his name and starts to talk to him. It may not seem like a big thing, but it really is because something like that can really brighten up someone's day and really mean something to them. He treats everyone with so much genuine respect and kindness that it's really refreshing and heartwarming. At first it seems to be phony or like it's just for the camera, but after a while you realize he's not putting up an act...He's just that nice of a person. In a way (and I mean this in the best possible way!), he almost reminds of Mr. Rogers, in his calming personality, the respectful way he talks to people and the way he's curious and interested in everything.

What I love about Mark's channel is if the food is good he is going to enjoy it no matter where he's at. It could be a little cart off the side of the road in Thailand, a hole in the hood of Los Angeles, a house in the middle of a neighborhood, a tiny spot in the middle of an alley or a fancy restaurant in a upscale city lol. He's going to eat 😝

That's truly a super unique and priceless experience that anyone would be jealous of. I have no doubt it will/has probably taught him so many things that you just simply wouldn't be able to in a normal setting, just by traveling along with his parents all over the world, meeting new people, visiting new places, learning about all the different cultures, and just experiencing everything.

Every bite, every reaction reminds me how much I adore Cajun cooking, it's crafted with so much love and care. Those recipes are timeless and priceless, they are totally unique and you can truly experience the magic through Mark's eye's and honest reactions. Mark as always, a superb, complete and loving examination of a truly fantastic culture and cuisine.
