The best advice I could give to someone seeking to become more fluid with their blade movement is simply this: Don't overthink it. When practicing a particular move or skill, try not to concentrate so hard on what you want to do, but rather clear your head and feel what you're doing. Calmly notice how speed and momentum effect the balance and spin of your blade during movement, while being both held in hand or released from your grip, free from hand... Don't try too hard to force a result, but play with it, draw from each experience, and learn to feel it. First become comfortable with the feel of your blade's weight, balance, and movement, and then work on moving your body in such fashion as to compliment the natural movement of your blade. It is synergy, that with practice becomes fluid and powerful. Don't force it, feel it. Take it slow, go with the flow, and on it's own blade and body will become partners in a most graceful yet deadly dance. Literally poetry in motion, beautiful to behold.

I've been training with a saber for a couple of weeks now. I use a neopixel, it's got some heft to at 3.3lbs, and I've finally gained the confidence and mobility - not to mention strength, which has improved noticeably - to start incorporating turns and spins into my routine. I'll tell ya, it's a game changer. I've heard it said that coordination can't be taught, but I disagree with that. I'm a 6'2'', 200+ lb 31-year-old dude and usually pretty clumsy, but even just a couple of weeks at around 30 minutes a night and I've been seeing positive changes. Will I be doing Ray Park kick flips anytime soon? Probably not, but every step I've taken on the journey so far has been a step in the right direction. Practice, practice, practice, and you will get better at it.

This is literally what I aspire to do / be. I don’t know if I’d prefer a normal saber or staff, but you’ve definitely given me hope that I can do it. You’re a force to be reckoned with that even Darth Sidious should be quaking in his dusty old throne.

Thank you for teaching us all these cool tricks and skills. You are very kind and wise and talented. Been trying some of these lightsaber spins during quarantine and it really helps with lifting spirits and continuing forward. Practicing the Saber gives me something to look forward to everyday. And the feeling of accomplishment once a particular technique is achieved is such a great feeling. But couldn't do it without your guidance. Thank you so very much again Michelle. Great vid! I'm not sure why, when you cut to some of the full example routines it has some sort of flickering effect where everywhere else in the vid it's crystal clear w/o flickering. Also, I was hoping to see you teach the embellishment where you sweep around, pick up the cat, raise your cat onto your shoulder and finish with a flourish.

As you do the 360 spin when you come down with a high whip switch your hand grip I just saw where you could improve it in other words switch hands go from right to left as you spin in the 360 and it back-and-forth In other words alternate hands as you spend with the 360 spin I’m just curious to see if it would work don’t have a light saber at the moment the one I had was Darth Maul and I wasn’t too fond of it couldn’t really move well with it but I do like a bow staff issues I didn’t like the way it was set up for Darth Maul it was a bit long for my taste and I have a jumbo sword like quite literally it’s a German flamberg Still have to find a light saber for my taste seen a couple but I didn’t know about you’re the master Black Box Kyber sabers One of those every time I find a good one did I think it to you when I find one that’s better than that one that I thought was a good one you’ll see it’s complete garbage in on my dammit what are the good ones
