Wow that had to be a tremendous amount of work…you should of course be very proud! Hope you stay safe and well and enjoy a beautiful Thanksgiving with your family. Love you Lady Bug. What a beautiful doll you made for Jessica, I had a Barbie growing up, my aunt used to make all those little dresses and outfits for her daughter and I was so jealous, every now and then my cousin would give me a few of those dresses. Oh what times we had. It’s a shame those times are long gone.❤ When I was in Michigan last month we were in the park walking my Dobi and these beautiful trees just started raining down those beautiful leaves, that was so beautiful, like the trees were crying, I had never seen anything like that. Granny Pat the doll you made for your granddaughter is absolutely adorable! You did a great job on her! I really hope that you will get the head poured for your mold. I bet he will be adorable as well! I had lots of Barbie dolls growing up. My mom made a lot of my clothes when I was younger, and with the scraps, she would make a dress, skirt, or simple top for my dolls. For Mother’s Day’s she would make matching dresses for her and I. I taught myself how to crochet watching KZbin videos back in 2012ish….but haven’t been able to crochet even a dishcloth since my husband died back in August 2017. If I don’t see ya before Thursday, I hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving and spend the day with family or friends, making new memories.

Lol I would play with them with their stuff when they came to their grandma’s. My best friend and neighbor growing up her mother was a good seamstress. She made her Easter outfits. That’s pretty cool Granny Pat. Jan is my age as you know. I was going to ask you the other day if you bought her a Barbie doll. Don’t you know my Mother would not buy me one. I think she was to mature. Mom didn’t think I needed it. But I did want one. My Aunt and Uncle would come every summer from Dayton to visit. Well my Aunt brought me a big bag . Inside was a Midge doll and lots of boxed clothes. Two hand made dresses. A Wedding dress, and a another ball room dress. Oh how Happy I was. Well it wasn’t long after that Mom gave in bought me a Barbie doll. One of my favorite dolls was a Patty Burp! Mom said at one time I had 17 dolls on my bed. Well as I started to age. She slowly gave some of them to my niece. Well one day she gave her my little red rocking chair. I said that does it. I threw a fit and went after it. Now at 68 I still have it. Lol I’m not giving that up and when I do they better promise they will take care of it! Lol! ❤️😘🐝. That is nice you got to meet the man. So nice of you to make that special doll for Jessica.

Barbie doll is fine, but when my sister and I were around 12 years old, we got our last doll, and it was a Revelon doll. Mine had blond hair, and my twin sister's doll had brown hair. We both were so pleased with them. Our neighbor made a beautiful dress for each of the dolls. I know Mom or Dad didn't have money to spare for two doll dresses, so I imagine Mom did a certain amount of ironing or mending for the neighbor, to pay her. ☺☕

Thinking about your granddaughter Jessica reminded me of the story of baby Jessica in Texas about 36 years ago. Do you remember it? Our little girl Amanda was 21/2. That night on the news it came on baby Jessica had fell down the well. Amanda kept hearing them say this, and she started to get upset Mommy what happened to baby Jessica. She just kept saying it and started getting real sad. I’ll never forget that. I’m sure there are a lot of people that remember that story. She was in the well I think 55 hours or so. So it was on the tv for a few days , I guess that’s why Amanda just kept saying it. The little girl did live and she is 36 today. You can see the full story on the internet of course.

@@sherrylong946 It was too long ago. I would have to find my certificate to see his name. There were probably several people involved in the Barbie process. He said Barbie’s face was modeled after his wife’s face. Have you ever looked at Barbie’s face???

@ I have been a Barbie fan since I was little. I still have mine and some special ones, too - like the Gone With The Wind ones. If it was Jack Ryan it says he passed in 91 of suicide. Also he was married several times, including to ZsaZsa Gabor. It says he sued Mattel over the claim to designing the Barbie doll. Anyway, your doll was beautiful! You are a grand lady of many talents. I wish you were MY grandma! ♥️
