I agree with several others comments, how nice of an ending it would’ve been with you actually firing it up and mowing some grass. At least maybe show a video of the owners reaction when picking it up. I mean even though you didn’t buy a battery I’m sure you have one to test it with. Like Taryl Fixes All would say: Fire it up, fire it up, fire up, fire up, fire up!!

Jim. please continue to make your Snapper mower videos with all of the disassembly and reassembly details, this is for the less mechanical Snapper owners and users. Thanks..

Ronald don’t worry about that I don’t plan on changing how I run my channel this channel is meant for the people that aren’t super mechanically inclined I am here to help you and everyone else fix her machines the right way, if you have any questions or you can’t figure it out by watching the video please email me and I will help you through it. I know what it’s like to be stuck in not being able to figure something out I don’t do computers don’t want to never have but with some help from KZbin I can usually get through what I’m trying to do, otherwise I go next-door to the neighbor kid and he helps me.Jim

Great video Jim! Now I know how to do it. It is so hot after work here in the county side. I now have a forest. So my father is a guy to use his brush hog. Then I can mow the yard.

Thanks Jim… great video. Would you happen to know what the length of that drive belt is for the 42” inch deck?

Steve a buddy of mine an hour away I’m helping rebuild his 42 inch machine and he said his belt is 52 1/4 inches long thanks. Jim

@@jimjackson9381 Hi Jim - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. Something doesn't add up here. My 1996 model, E281216BE, has a non adjustable belt. I use a Dunlop AA73, whose pitch is listed at 1854mm = 72.99inches. I would have thought that the 42inch belt would be way longer to get around the additional pullets and extra blade spindle. I enjoyed the videos just as they are presented. If folk don't need the technical info, they can sit back and enjoy your idle banter as you work. I was hoping for an idea of the cost of the parts needed and the number of hours you spent on the project. We don't need to know the cost of your time. Wonder what your next project will be!

Well they still are building the rear engine machines and nothing on the market will pick up leaves the way these do. Jim
@radiowave752 жыл бұрын
What years did they make these? I rarely seem them come up for sale. Is it possible to put a 42" deck on a mower that had a different size or is it specific to that model?
@jimjackson93812 жыл бұрын
They didn’t make very many 42 inch decks because they’re not a high vac and they don’t bag as well as a single blade, if you look on your engine tag at the code number the first two numbers will tell you what year the engine was made and they don’t typically carry engines over to the next year. Jim
@radiowave752 жыл бұрын
@@jimjackson9381 I see. I don't use a bagger just side discharge. I'm interested in one because I ran a snapper for years and it was tough. I sold it and bought a very nice cub cadet 1863. It's heavy duty but I don't care for it. It's more maintenance and i have to use a lift to maintain it ect...I like the simplicity of the snapper. I like the idea of the rear engine rider with a larger deck. I wish they still made a larger deck.

i just aquired a 42 inch snapper rer, my question is, i have 2 28 inch snappers, one i mow with and the other im using for parts, will the 28 inch deck fit and run ok on the 42 inch snapper? the only reason i wanna chage the deck is cause the 42 inch wont fit through my fence gate.
@jimjackson93812 жыл бұрын
It would probably fit but you’re going to have to put a different pulley on the drive disk I’m sure a 42 inch is not the same diameter I have a friend that’s working on his I’ll get a hold of him this weekend and have him measure the diameter of the pulley and let you know. Jim
