8:08 The reason for this is actually known. In the code, Fire Fang is marked as a "charging" move by accident. Moves like Solar Beam's first turn is a "charging move" and should always activate without checking the opponent's ability. Since Fire Fang is treated as a non-attacking move in the code, it bypasses the wonder guard check.

Which isn't super important since only Shedinja can have Wonderguard legitimately, and Fire Fang, being a fire type move, is super effective against Shedinja, and therefore would hit anyways.

Weather moves can defeat pokemon with wonder gaurd anyway e.g. Sandstorm or blizzard

Correct bc it’s passive damage, they aren’t being hit by the move, but by the weather itself

At 1:20:26, I'm actually pretty sure the animation is meant to indicate that your Pokemon is ready to evolve! Caterpie evolves at Level 7.

The fact that Hypno doesn't have a unique ability that doesn't BOOST his/her hypnosis' accuracy stats or last longer when it's his full on theme always bugged me just as much as Blastoises water cannons being just decorative in old games.

Honestly, regardless of what others may think, I adore these huge compilation videos. They're a great way to wind down with whilst waiting for my medications to kick in, and are incredibly soothing imo. Plus, it gives me a chance to re-learn, or learn new things about titles I either once played, or are yet to play, either way, the nostalgia hit seeing Pokémon titles I grew up with always brings me joy, thank you for all you do phin, and hope you're well!

@gibbler_ I have, I just prefer these longform videos, it's easier to deal with when watching on TV (when my TV decides to work, because technology is infuriating, especially for a techie like myself), and they're easier to find as some channels may not have a playlist for a series of videos, still, playlists are great, but my personal preference is videos like this :)

They aren't the one making the decision. If the convenience is available then one should take it. If people who like the compilations watch them, and people who don't like them don't, isn't that the way to get accurate data?

@@gibbler_ apparently my comment never uploaded, shame, but long story short, these are nice. I mainly watch on my TV and whilst I do make playlists, I specifically look for longer content or videos like these as they're a great pastime whilst key meds kick in. I prefer these as an all in one solution, rather than having to search or go through for specific videos, on top of the fact that some videos may have previously never been shown to me. I just like these longform videos, and I'm always appreciative, no matter how many times a video is "reuploaded". I just wanted to share my appreciation for videos like these. Apparently that's not worth doing. Final note, I use YT premium. I don't get ads, yeah I still see sponsor stuff, but so what? Most of it won't apply to me as not in the US, but hey, nice that they're getting some extra money from it all. I like this content, I'll keep enjoying it, thanks for the opinion regardless :)

4:46:30 Because of this too, you can get more than one shiny starter at the same time. Myself and two other people are the only ones that have been recorded to have seen two shiny starters at the same time (video in my profile). The odds of this are 1:67 million or so. To get all three, the odds would be approximately 1:550 BILLION.

Fire Fang is right next to Shadow Force in the code and it has a special flag that indicates it goes thru Wonder Guard, the intent was probably for Shadow Force(Giratina's special move) to have this flag, it ended up not mattering anyways as both hit Shedinja anyways but that's likely the intent.

the wishmaker jirachi also has a much easier method to hunt. which involves manipulating the main and backup saveslots and intentionally corrupting the main one, to overwrite with the backup.

The Pokemon introduced in Gen 2 being based on animals actually native to Osaka is pretty funny considering what the series would end up doing later. Like finding crocodiles in the arid deserts of New York City, or getting a monkey as a starter on the north Atlantic island of Great Britain.

You can get a Mew in BDSP by having Lets Go! save data on your Switch and talking to the elderly woman in Floaroma Town. You can also obtain a Jirachi from the elderly man if you have Sword or Shield save data.

Shiny mudkips are possible on the end scene but the first mudkip you saw and captured has to shiny. The mudkips on the final cutscene are the mudkips from your pokedex rather than the ones you own.

I was a child born in 1990 actually owned one of those interactive Pikachu dolls. I dont know if i still have it. I remember the ear broke and the cheeks no longer light up. He took like four double a batteries and his mouth moved. You could pet him on his tummy and back, and squeeze his palm.

Technically speaking, you could get a Mew in Floaroma Town in BDSP if you owned a copy of Let's Go Pikachu or Eevee. It's technically turning one of the games into an accessory, which creates its own semantical argument of the word "accessory", but it is a way to get it.
