They all look awesome! I also prefer the look of the tighter cells. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with you, Lisa. The nice, small, tight cells are always my favourite . #1 definitely the winner ❤💥🙏💐💐

Always helpful Lisa! Thank you for putting your scientist hat on again to try and solve another problem 👩🏻🔬🥼✨

Lisa, I avoid this problem, by using Elmers glue, it works fantastic. A combination of American Floetrol, Elmers glue, acrylic paint is perfect for my bloom pouring.

Yes that works as well!

Hi Lisa, I actually don't mind the boalder cells so I like that version too. Just to let you know, it's not wise to leave the Aussie Floetrol open in a cup as it is toxic. It is safer to just add more paint to the thin Floetrol, love. 20 bottles is a lot of Floetrol to thicken up. I love all your work Lisa, even many of the ones you scrape. That is what I love about art, it's subjective. ❤❤🇦🇺

I like them all! I think adding the thickener looks good. Not sure on a larger canvas how the cells would look. I too have some old Aussie Floetrol and wondered if that is why my cells are all funky.
@m7111310 ай бұрын
Interesting, too, that some artists say that oxygen and light deteriorates the Aussie floetrol,and to try to squeeze the bottle as you're closing the lid to keep out excess oxygen. So maybe try the gel with Aussie floetrol that hasn't been out in the open for 8days

I 100% agree! Obviously they all looked fabulous, but those tight cells are definitely my preferred look ❤

I love cells in general! 😂 so honestly, I definitely favor the smaller ones but I really love the big ones too and even though you said you did a bad blow on the third one I saw some really pretty cells Poppin so honestly, I thought all three were beautiful just my opinion! You’re awesome thank you for doing this for us

This was very helpful. I have some old Aussie Floetrol and was wondering if it had gone bad so-to-speak. Will test it against my new bottle. Thanks!

Yup..I'm with you Lisa. I actually have been cleaning up and came across a bottle of Owatrol. It is pretty thick. I used it up in some pearl paints and did a blow out with acrylic. Not too many cells but I wonder if you mixed the old Flo with it if you could get a happy compromise 🤔 Thanks for sharing today😁😘

Liza, since your pillow is thick, how would you thin it out? Adding floetrol?

The liquit-thick made the edges rough looking. I think. I didn’t get a really good look but it looked that way in the center.
@CarlaJThompson44410 ай бұрын
this is great! I like both types of cells and it’s pretty cool that you can get either type depending on what kind of look your trying to achieve. Wondering if mixing a little of both bottles would give medium cells? If only these things always followed logic! Could be fun to do some kind of multi bloom or bloom swipe /bloom blow combo where both types are used in different areas of the piece to get mixed effects. So much experimenting can be done. Thanks for this! Perhaps I will get a thin bottle sometime and the knowledge gained here will be so useful!

Thanks so much Lisa for this experiment. I have a bottle of Aussie Floetrol that is thin. I'll try letting mine sit out for a while, but I think you might be on to something with the chemical change in the floetrol itself. I'm wondering if the makers of the product could answer some questions on whether or not the fluctuation with hot and cold temps could possibly hamper it in some way.

They don’t really care since it does the job it’s made for 😂 it still is a paint extender, they don’t care about cells unfortunately 😂
