I saw an artist spread a real thin layer of resin on the plexiglass first ,then pour on top and it moved a lot faster and no holes. I love the resiblast . I love the colors!

Awesome.........I love that one could put the lights behind I bet that will be beautiful ........Most of the artist I've seen have been putting the resi-blast in their paint before they pour....this is really different and you get to choose where the "blast" goes.........thank you!

Thank you so much for this video! Love your artwork- and this video got my creative wheels a Rollin! Initially wanted to learn techniques to do resin art on some small table tops for our house in St Croix. ( which is still project #1)- but.... I LOVE LOVE LOVE plexiglass piece you did and am thinking would be beautiful to take a couple of 12"x36" plexiglass panels- do resin pour- frame it out and attach stakes to sink into ground in front yard and add LED strip lights to back of frame to illuminate. Thank you for video- look forward to seeing more of the beautiful pieces you create! You rock!

I saw somebody from the manufacturer add resiblast the same way as we add silicone in a dirty pour but I think I like your technique of adding it to a stick and then poking the surface of the resin to get cells exactly where you want them! I just think that should probably done as the last step so you don't get craters while you're still working the surface. I can't wait to get some of this stuff! I make jewelry and can see many possible ways to use this in my work!

Annmarie, I know this is an older video, but if you want a more directed, stronger air flow from your hairdryer, for more control, you can try holding a funnel in the front of the dryer with the small end facing the resin. It gives you a more direct air stream to move the resin in a smaller area. Beautiful work, as always!

It might be more helpful to use your funnel on the end of your dryer cause it directs your air flow to what you want instead of being so spread out. Im a hairstylist and thats what we use them for. Directing the airflow to a certain part of the hair.

Hi Annemarie :) I use alcohol instead of Resiblast to create cells. You may want to use it and see if you get less holes. The alcohol creates a different cellular structure. I saw another resin artist using plexiglass too and she's amazing Rita Kiss ~ Also you may want to use a little more resin so it flows easier.

Claudette McDermott Rita is a professional Artist. She does everything the right way. Annemarie just picked this hobby up not too long ago so everything on this channel is just 1 big experiment. No. That is not a put down, either. I'm just pointing that out to give context. So, expect to see some crazy stuff here and the best part is that she (Annemarie) does requests! So if you've ever wondered what would happen if you added Drain-O to green paint and poured it on a potato and spun it on a pottery wheel while melting it with a heat 🔫...here's your channel! Lol. Happy Painting! Or Melting!

It's seems hard to judge how much resin to use on the canvas. I can't remember but someone mentioned that resin has a chart that tells you how much resin to mix for different size canvas. I think that would help a lot so there's no thin areas, but with the holes and thin areas the light will show through better.

Something else occured to me as I was watching. I think the hair dryer dried the resin faster and gave you less working time than it would if you just poured and tilted. That could be why the cells came out more as holes toward the end, as the surface was quite a bit drier. The trick may be to add the resi-blast as soon as you can after you pour. And I think a good tip the guy from the manufacturer showed was to add a base layer first and then pour over it so there was enough resin not to get big holes in the cells. It might be worth trying also to let 1 layer dry fully and then pour onto it the final colors you want, then add resi-blast.

Me too, but I'm always open to tweaking things if I can possibly get a better outcome. That's what I think is so cool about KZbin. Artists get a chance to brainstorm with one another. :-) I have been watching some amazing things today combining wood with resin and finding out how to stabilize wood with a vaccuum process that makes it heat-safe up to 400 degrees and prevents cracking with atmospheric changes. Very interesting stuff!

IAMGiftbearer I couldn't agree more about YT, brainstorming and finding a better outcome if possible. Anyone would be crazy to disagree. I also have been checking out the wood and resin process. I'm interested in trying my hand at making one of those gorgeous "resin ocean tables" like the Atlantis table. Do a search on Piinterest for "resin ocean table" you'll get a ton of them. They are amazingly beautiful. The statues are unbelievable as well.

This is magnificent! I was going to pose a question on your Facebook group page if anyone had the nanny acrylic on plexiglass. I do foster care for medically fragile little ones and the house that I have now is about a hundred years old and has French doors going from the hallway into the living room. I need to replace all the panes of glass with plexiglass, as it's a hazard for little ones. And I really want to do some acrylics on there. So I am so excited to see this! And like you, I just love all the blues turquoise has and ocean colors! I have one question about the resin. How many people say how they have to wear respirator masks because of the heavy fumes it. I'm wondering if the kind of resin you are using to actually mix the paint with is different than the kind of resin people are using to coat and finish off there painting. Of course I'll look on your list here to see what kind of resin you used. Do you think it is possible for me to do this with the regular pouring medium on the plexiglass? That sure would make it easier! Thank you for your help and I enjoy your videos so much.

You're right about the speed of stirring. A lot of videos I've seen say to mix slowly, but I've also watched some who use a mixer attached to a drill. I guess it just keeps the bubbles down a bit. I think Aram is a marketing genius. The Resiblast leaves dimples, which means one must do a second pour, which means more resin sales. 😂. Haha.

Oh, almost forgot. If you blow hairdryer into cup if resin, it will loosen it up enough to be able to get a bit more out of the cup. Also, acetone will keep resin a bit more fluid longer.

I'm new here...really enjoying your videos and how you teach as you go along. This resin fascinates me for 2 reasons. My nephew is really into finding wood that will have a certain look when it is sliced horizontally and others cutting vertically. They are mostly dead trees. I can't remember the words he uses: I have foggy chemo brain (But that's ok, as I had serious cancer and lived through it!) Anyway he does more horizontal cuts, but was telling me that vertical cuts, he will eventually carve out th dead part, and leave them for 1+ years to dry. I have seen when people have a long slice, for say a dining table, and they pour in a single color resin where the "river" has been created from removal of the rotted wood. I'm wondering how that could be done and what that would look like! Also thinking about how what you do could be melded with kitchen countertops or backsplash. I'll be redoing my 70s orange and brown kitchen in 1-2 years. Subway tile, granite & quartz are old news, to me!

The funny thing is that I cut my own plexiglass to make moulds for embedding items. I find once the resin has fully cured I pull the plexiglass away from the resin with very little effort. The reason being is that resin doesn't adhere to most plastics. Epoxy resin adhesives will bond all woods, aluminium and glass well. It does not bond to Teflon, polyethene, polypropylene, nylon, or Mylar. It bonds poorly to polyvinyl chloride, acrylic and polycarbonate plastics.

Does anyone else see the Fozzie type bear in the lower middle? Starts at around 13:30 and winks whenever her hand waves over it about a minute later. It made me chuckle, so I had to watch it a few times. Enjoy.

I know you said you don't need suggestions or instruction and I totally respect that. But when you said you also wanted to be able to work with the paints for about an hour to hour - half I just wanted to say that Mod Podge for paper (acid free) gives you that extra added time to work with your paints as opposed to PVA glue if you wanted to try it. Maybe you have and if so I apologize. I haven't come across that video yet. And I don't mean to offend. I just wanted to throw it out there in case you hadn't tried it yet. I love your work and your videos. God bless and have a great day.

You didn`t offend but also didn`t really understand what I was talking about. I was using resin...not paint. Paint I can use for hours but resin only 30 min. ♥♥♥ Thank ♥ You ♥♥♥ ♥Thank you for watching ♥

Carl Mazur Whaaat? Carl. You got to be kidding!? Resin is fool proof! You know how to pour so it's exactly the same thing only with resin it literally fixes itself. Run over to Michaels and grab some pour-on..whatever brand that is. Its like $15 with a coupon and usually found in the Mod Podge section. Mix it up and put whatever you have laying around in your mix. You can use acrylic, oil, powdered pigment, clothes dye, inks, peanut butter and jelly...you can mix and match ANYTHING & EVERYTHING into your resin, flip and watch the magic happen! It's not possible to screw it up. I expect to 👀 see what you come up with on one of your next videos real soon. No excuses, Carl!
