37 Bolt Action Battle Report: Fog near Foy, US vs Germany 1000 points

This weeks Bolt Action battle report see us head back to the Ardennes as the US Army take on the German might in the Battle of the Bulge offensive.
The scenerio is No Mans Land from the main rule book. With some special rules included from the Battle of the Bulge Campaign book:
Snow - the whole map is covered in a thick layer of snow and so the going is tough for all vehicles who are reduced to advanced moves only over the difficult terrain , NO running!
Fog - we also use the fog rules, as was the case in the real offensive, this limits the view of both forces and prevents the American air superiority.
The mix of rules from Warlord Games main rule book and the recent Battle of the Bulge Campaign book make for a great game.
FORCES
This scenario is set with equal opposing forces, 1000 points of both Winter US from the Campaign book and a 1000 point German late war Generic Platoon.
SETUP UP
The battle is played on a 6' x 4' gaming surface. The short table edges are north and south. The centre of the table is marked and each side deploys up to half their force 12” from the center .
Reinforcements come in from turn two, outflankers from tirn three.
Another great battle, fantastic board and a few laughs and banter along the way…
…but who will win, watch and see!

Great battle report. Need to try out some weather effects. For the StuG with the medium howitzer, you're after the StuH-42 listing on Easy Army.

Thanks the weather really made a huge difference… snow reduced movement, the fog visibility, but still fun to play! I will let Stew know about the StuH as he will likely run it again soon, and with the tank riders it does look pretty cool. Thanks for watching and your comments 👍🏻

Great reports, entertaining and always learn something from you guys as I am fairly new to the game. Something I am trying to clarify in the rules recently and it popped up in your game. Did the sniper team need to take a morale check on 50% casualty from half track?

Hi glad you liked the game, hopefully many more to come in the New Year! Yes, the unit is reduced to 50% so should take a morale check, not sure if we did this as we sometimes miss/forget bits, don’t record them or I edit it out. Hope this helps?

Sorry, I only have my mobile phone to record the videos so it is difficult to keep steady. I will try not to move around so much, but often with the big table and dice rolling it’s hard not to!
