Some footage of some pieces I have made in Lavaflek Clay (UK) and used a number of glazes. All but one a single glaze. Showing the results.
The vase is the glaze pipetted on to the clay.

Hi Lois if the cookie inside the lids is the same size maybe when you fire together the lid maybe crack, get a cookie a little smaller. Remember the glaze fire the pots still shrink 🤗 sorry for my English, not first language

I'm sure you've found out by now that you just need to tap the top of the lid lightly with a knife or light hammer. Etc

Do you know what the schedule on your cone 6 preset programme is so I can programme it into my rohde?

Sorry, I should watch till the end, always do that jump fast on the comments, mix a half cup of wax with a teaspoon of aluminum Hydrate, wax the gallery of the pots and the lid lip. It will make very easy to take you lids out, after firing. The wax has to be mixing constantly because the Aluminum Hydrate sets very fast. I usually use a fork to mix on the jar. 🤗

I have some and had forgotten all about adding Alumina Hydrate. I watched it in Hschin’s video. It was a big pain getting them apart and I did do some damage to the pots when I was too rough. Next time I must remember.

Do you mind if I ask what your firing schedule is for the lavafleck. I’ve been using it for some time now but am suddenly getting a lot of bloating. I’m firing to it’s too temp and no further but just wondering how low you fire it and what your schedule is as your results look great. Would be really grateful if you wouldn’t mind sharing your schedule. Many thanks

Hi. So I use a Skutt KMT1018 It has a preset digital board and I use the preset for a Cone 6 Sometimes I have used a slow fire but usually it’s a medium fire. I don’t do holds. I have some some in the past but I felt I got the results without the preset. I would suggest you do a bit of homework with what they do but I feel I haven’t made extra effort for success with lavaflek. Of course it depends on the make and the batch number.
