Happy New Year!! I hope 2022 has treated you all well so far! This week I decided to give coasters another go and made two sets using the same primary colors (white, black and silver) but utilizing two different colors as the color accents.

For the coasters, I used the flip cup technique using 3 ounce Dixie cups. I guess technically they could be considered mini flip cups! And while you don't see it in the video, when they cured I finished them with a coat of resin.

If you don't know my story, my name is Lisa and I am a life long crafter and I didn't realize it in my (ahem) younger years, I think I started crafting, not only to let my creative side out, but to calm down my anxiety and OCD. Some of my crafts are drawing, painting, cross stitching, hot glue gun art, and a little epoxy resin.. But when I discovered pour painting, I fell in love. It's so relaxing and calming... perfect for a wound tight goofball like myself.😀

I've been pour painting now since December 2019 and I will be the first to admit that I am not the most talented painter in the world. But I am still learning (there's always something new to learn 😁) and happily share any mistakes I make with you. Some of the best things can come from mistakes.

For this painting, there is no pouring medium.... it's just plain ol' paint and a bit of water until I got the consistency of warm honey.

The colors used to create this are: white, black, metallic silver, teal sea and laguna. The paints used are Craft Smart with the exception of the black which was created by mixing two brands: black by Craft Smart and Oxide Black by Amsterdam. I think the combination of and Amsterdam paint and metallic paint is was caused all the cells to appear in the coasters... almost like a pearl pour!
