Incredible interview! Gunner's hilarious! He talks so fast & mentions so many names that I got a bit lost sometimes. LOL! I watch a lot mob vids, but just when I thought I had heard so much dirt already, there's always more! And, I'm sure there's still soooo much more than we know. Anyway, thank you Tom for another entertaining guest. 😀

I was somewhat surprised on a different podcast to find out how violent and murderous the Detroit mafia(s) were in their early years, until those warring clans united to form the one and single Detroit Partnership. Prior to that they may have been one of the most gun fighting mafia towns. They were dropping bodies all over. But Detroit has always been a tough town.

Post prohibition they haven’t been too violent. But there had been it’s share of violence. I know if a handful of murders that weren’t really investigated as mob murders. But they are. I know three myself. Associates who pushed the wrong way. One talked too much .One ratted on his non mob coke dealer. I can’t talk about these stories but I think even Burnstien doesn’t know if these murders. He only knows the declared by the Feds mob murders. But for the most part, they avoid violence. Wasn’t a lot of violent guys. I was one of them. That’s why the brass liked me. I was known for violence because Tony Jack ha DNR beat his goomar’s ex. Demolished the guy. So he told the old men. So they started using me for muscle. Or they used the bikers and Chadians for muscle. But they try to keep it quite. Which means low violence
@brewcity2317
@brewcity2317 2 жыл бұрын
@@gunnerdetroit, Oh, I am quite confident the Detroit mafia even after the partnership was formed which dramatically reduced violence to skyrocket business and profits, used violence. Detroit as a whole has been a tough and violent time long as I can remember. So, for a criminal outfit to survive there they at minimum will have to resort to violence occasionally.
@gunnerdetroit
@gunnerdetroit 2 жыл бұрын
@@brewcity2317 yes you’re right. But it’s a last result saved usually for big mouths and possible rat associates. There has only been one made rat to flip. Only one. They could kill jim now but imagine the heat. Guy in WISTC found murdered? Imagine the fed’s responses guy isn’t worth it. But best believe they know his WISTC name. I leaned it while still in prison. Boss called off the $250k contract after he did his little 18 months. Nove couldn’t come to Detroit while Jack Tocco was alive. Now he comes back from (I won’t say) to visit his family. Boss says he doesn’t want to see him. But yes, the threat of violence has always been enough. Most guys are family. Detroit is by far the slickest at cultivating powerful assets. That’s why the thrive. Weave their power into the political infrastructure. Cops. Judges. Prosecutors. Billionaires. Media. That’s how they thrive and remain low key

@ roughly the 37ish minute mark: I concur with Gunner fully on that standard of success, Earthly success at least. Wherein that don of Detroit resides the opposite side of the grave I do not know. But in terms of what could be passed down this side of the grave he had to be one of the most successful mafia dons in Cosa Nostra history. Some mobtuber followers are more fascinated with serial murdering and torture than with what a silver fox can pass down to his grandchildren.

@@marcbasil I don't have much experience with Chicago. I knew a little crew from chicago that we swapped stolen merchandise with. They had a pawnshop down there, we had a pawnshop in Detroit. We had a larceny ring going on. I've told that story at some point. how on the first time we went down to Chicago to swap some merch, we went out with some chicago guys and they end up getting in a fight. Me and my two boys jumped in. Then when we were leaving the club some black dude pull the gun on my boy and my boy grabbed the gun and got shot in the hand. Still took the gun, and beat the dude's ass. Kept the gun. And didn't even go to the hospital. The bullet went through his palm and came out by his elbow. He didn't even go to the hospital. his name is Travis. He was Gangster F. My grandpa and some of the old men sometimes talked about Chicago. I knew they had friends there from the old days. But I didn't personally have any experience with chicago so I don't talk about it. I know they were doing the thing there. Same thing as in Detroit.there was a lot of mutual friends and connections. But I didn't really have any personal experiences with Chicago. I stick to what I know.

Tom...have you ever seen how much the Detroit guy Tony Lap makes the guy has had SERIOUS money for years ,and on top of it he sold a business,I believe it was a insurance agency but not 100% that I want to say brought him over. 100 million,possibly 3 mill if I remember correctly....regardless the guy is beyond a earner. Supposedly he has a big role in the family,would imagine he speaks through someone trusted,he's originally a Chicago guy who moved to Detroit and has some interests in Hamilton,which is a heavy mob town/city. All I know about Detroit is what I listen to or read,I was born and raised in NY and then moved to CT,so Im only familiar with the TriState area . Bottom line Detroit has some heavies ,a true secret society.....Quiet Money....I'd take a guess and say every made guy in the Detroit family has big money,some of those families are very very well off there are tons of associates and made guys with the same last name.

Then bought it back for $30. The company thag boughg ig bankrupted. Now Lop is selling it again. I can’t get into what they do. But it’s a money making gold mine. All above Baird. Sort of. I just got word last night about the magnitude of it. I was like wow! Detroit guys are college educated and business savvy. That’s what they are so differnt from other families. They don’t care about everyone knowing hey are mafia. The people who are supposed to know, know. They make their money, raise families, travel and enjoy life. then retire free men. Not in a cell. My grandpa never spent a day in jail. He was involved his whole life. Smart. You’d think these east coast guys would take a page from their book. I don’t expect the mob groupies to get it. They root for whoever comes from their area, and whoever is on TV and KZbin the most. Nothing like Detroit.
