A retired ATF friend was assigned quite a while in NYC . A lady in his apartment was always alone so he and his wife invited her to dinner. The restaurant staff was very attentive to their every need- enough that it was noticed by him. Later he learned she was the spouse of a known Made Guy. No doubt he had to write up a CYA report.

Loved the chat and the connection between you two. One thing did make me feel very sad. That was when you said those that say I can’t do it I have nothing… you say to them I don’t want to hear it. Look at this guy… Michael is so different to those people. He was born into a crime family which provided all he needed and gave him a great life style and ten million life’s worth of great stories to tell and character to be. Yes he then did jail time. And was lucky enough to to meet the woman he loves. Which brought about his change to life. Even his jail stores he tells of great moments of luck. But after getting out he then had a great story to tell that the worlds wanted to hear. Most others from that life are dead now so he’s the top dog. Even in the life he was lucky from the gas money man approaching him. All this together makes for one fascinating story that has made him millions. Yes well done to him. But please please don’t compare this to someone born into nothing at all. Where nothing happened. Other than they were poor had nothing to do and were given not one single break in life. Or any they did get was of tiny significance. They grow up and had super low end jobs and could never make any money even if they stayed in just to pay the rent and not waste money. So they never really get to meet anyone outside of their apartment and even get to see the lucky breaks. They have no money, just work, pay rent, work, pay rent… Or for some unemployed pay rent.. They have no story nothing to sell. Just nothing. Do you see the difference. It’s not right to compare those people to Michael or even yourself. You had a great father, then the mob hit you saw to give you the story, then deniro.. Yes you make your life from that. But life gave you that to make something from. It’s really not right to say if Michael or we can do this anyone can. Michael led an extraordinary life. Those you say ‘I don’t want to hear it’ That’s the problem no does. Because they have nothing worth hearing. But I think they are the ones that deserve an ear all the more. Yet Michael will have literally millions more ears for his next pod cast. They will still have none. It’s and unfair comparison in an already unfair world. Anyway just had to mention that. But again loved watching you guys and great work. I do also love and admire your background story in life chazz it’s incredibly up lifting. All the best x

I undwertand what you mean friend. I was born into a poor family in Ukraine in 1980, we had less than nothing and my father was killed when i was 8 years old in a robbery gone wrong. My mom died from cancer when I was 19 and I'm an only child. I have 1 grandfather left who is 94 years old, and every other family memeber is dead, im 43 years old and now I live in Canada, have good life, good job, a house and afew rental properties although no wife or kids. I can speak 6 languages, Ive lived on every continent except Australia and I have more stories to tell than anyone ive ever met, although I enjoy listening to others much morer than listening to myself, to make it clear that I am indeed someone who has respect, love and humility. My point is in your writing I sensed a victim mentality from a 3rd perspective with all due respect. When there is a will, there is ALWAYS a way. All anyone ever has to do is either be lucky enough to have a mentor in real life, or to draw inspiration from 1 or many people who you respect or you want to mirror in accomplishments or character traits, and 1 step at a time, you will find yourself elevating yourself to heights you previously didnt think were possible. It is a gift to be able to have mental fortitude, but also if you strive to try many things and dont get discouraged by the many inevitable failures, you willl ALWAYS gain strength and determination as you go along. This can only be achieved by TRYING new things and never stop trying to learn things about yourself in the process. Only those that accept the hand they were dealt, and succumbing to the initial circumstances which they find themselves in, will inevitably stay in those circumstances. If you can dream it, you CAN accomplish it, even if you have no idea which direction to take or what actions to pursue. The key is to KEEP MOVING. I am a living testament that determination, and good work ethic will ALWAYS give you a life worth living for, sooner or later. I would love to meet a woman I can spend the rest of my life with, as when i was younger I've had many women who were worthy, but I thought i had all the time in the world, and its 1 of the biggest regrets of my life, as I could not perceive our society coming to such a degradation and moral collapse as we are in now, and I do not use that as an excuse, but that is clearly missing in my life. I truly hope this summary can bring 1 person some enlightment to change their life or have some sort of positive outlook in their hope for their future, as more than anything in this world, I always strive to help others in any way I can, as I have many times in my life before just as others have helped me, and would hope some day when when I look back aty everything, I can feel like my life was not a waste. Much love to you brother, and I hope you have everything you ever wished for and you can also spread that zest for life to others. God bless and much love. Konstantin

The Appalachin meeting at Joe Barbara's was basically Vito Genovese's doing. He wanted everyone to recognize that he was now the main power in the Mob, along with Carlo Gambino, and not Lucky or Frank Costello, who he had just months prior had the Chin try to kill. It was stupid and and basically just Vito pounding his chest.

"Do you know who I am?" Doesn't fly because it's a bluff. If he was important would not ask that question because people would know who he was already. "Do you know who I'm with?" Is okay because it's genuine and humble. It means "I'm not important, but I'm a friend of somebody important." Authenticity and humility is respected as a result. Great lesson there. Thanks guys.
