Worst part of it all is that Inco learned nothing. He's fully convinced none of it was his fault.

I think the thing I love the most about this “song” is that it’s not really anything. It’s just sounds and wind almost like Inco is thinking just absolutely nothing after seeing what he’s done

It's the city's soundscape as Inco is walking home from the hospital. His mind is vacant, since he has learnt nothing and is a nobody.

welp, I finished the game, that was my first ending, and... Holy f@cking shit... I got a body made of steel but a heart made of glass, and this ending being my first one? completely destroyed my lil buddy. You see, I really had been feeling it, I don't sleep well anymore, I don't have any appetite at all, and my work? almost got kicked out just by thinking about that single scene of Olivia on the hospital. What does that means? Means that this game deserves to be in the Game Awards, fuck you devs, you guys made my cry my eyes out and I loved it.

I tried so hard but in the end it doesnt even matter...... Yup. I wasnt paying attention to the point system and ended up getting Ending 1 when both Inco and Olivia ended up with 2 points each.

Can't even say that i felt much anger for this ending at the end of the day. It just felt... hollow and sad throughout once it was all taken in (even more so if you have the context from E4). Inco became a full on delusional person, his worst personality traits at full force and it affecting people around him, while he's coping extremely hard with the actions that transpired. Didn't even feel angry at him due to him showing signs of some psychological actions (rationalization as an example when he’s thinking in and outside the hospital), just... disappointed and empty. While he may have been influenced by outside sources in what he did, ultimately his own actions are what contributed to the shitshow. Olivia becomes even more paralyzed, and runs a non-zero risk of getting PTSD plus regress further in terms of personality. That is if she ever does wake up from the coma. About the only positive would be the fact that her father visits her in the hospital, further showing that he loves her deeply despite his abscenses. The Paynes have to go through the heartbreak of Olivias status, and knowing that their last conversation was on very bad terms. Damien in particular is gonna have to live with him exposing the so called "plans" to potentially having her get kicked out, in the heat of the moment and knowing that it's one of the last exchanges he had with his godsister. Liz… wouldn’t take it well. Hard to say more as Inco and Olivia didn’t exactly have the most developed relationship with her to begin with. Ben... well, he's still keeping his condition a secret and is likely still being abused by his girlfriend behind the scenes. And Mia... well, in addition to the above, she's still likely out there tormenting people at St. Hammond and being her usual despiceable self. And all while getting away with it at the same time. So... at the end of the day, E1 is a lose-lose. Pity those who had to get it as their last ending before the epilogue was unlocked.

I... I don't think I'll ever be able to get myself to see the monster Inco becomes in this ending... And hearing people getting this as their first ending out of all of them... I just refuse to go that low... I know curiosity will nag at me but I will refuse to listen to it... maybe ending 2 and definitely for ending 4 but never this one...

I’ve been curious, what did inco mean by ‘it’s better this way’? Walking away not looking back at hospital or what transpired overall?
@TwistedChaos44289 ай бұрын
The former, easily. He never wanted Olivia to get hurt. I think deep down he knows he fucked up, and royally at that, but is denying his involvement to himself to cope with it. Hence, it's better that he's gone. It's also a reference to Snoot's E1: Anon notes to himself that it was the first time he thought he was somebody. Then a lot of people got hurt. So; It was better for him, and everyone else, that he be alone. Even the rain got tired of his internal monologue, so he left. He wasn't the only person in the world, after all.
@emilioescobedo848728 күн бұрын
@@TwistedChaos4428Honesty, you may be right. I took note of this... person, and it seems like he's struggling to deal with what he's caused, because he isn't truly gone, nor did he have vile intent. And yet, if he really did think it wasn't his fault, he would not question, and yet, he is questioning, why, and Inco didn't want to continue, looking back before the aftermath is shown to us. From taking in the notes, I do believe Inco will never come to terms with what he has done.
