What got me most was that replika couple in the mines. One is dying and the other is sobbing. The dying one keeps comforting the sobbing one by talking about memories they inherited from their gestalt and how funny it is that they retain them. The other keeps sobbing the whole time. Final moments of two people that love each other. They both know its over. One comforts and one can't do anything but cry.

Oh, yes, it was the first thing that I thought of after the ending. Honestly, that couple's situation is really similar to Ariane's and Elster's. There's only one way out left for them and both of them wish it didn't have to be this way

This song is like 90% the reason why the fake ending stuck with me. The quiet ambient synth(?) in the background drowns the atmosphere in melancholy. Then, the piano comes in, but it's devoid of any sense of drama or grand emotion: instead, it feels tired, and spent. Watching LSTR wander in the red with this in the background captured the feeling of giving up and powerlessness perfectly. The song feels like it's spectating LSTR, watching her end as if it already knew it was coming, and resigning itself to the fact that nothing can be done. As the song fades out, the player watches the life fade from her eyes, unable to change the outcome. Perfect song for a perfect scene, absolutely adore it. Great song/10

I imagine this song is what Ariane must've felt like on that ship. When you're trapped in such a small space for so long, with nothing left to do that you find enjoyable nor enriching, the only thing left to feel is how you wither a little bit more each day. The cruel passage of time remains as constant as ever, but its perceived effect is amplified to the level of torture. This song is calming in a way because it shows acceptance of this truth - but it feels off at the same time. It's a "forced" acceptance - the passage of time is something we all experience, but their experience of it was far worse. They accept it because they have no other choice, but they are not entirely at peace with it because instead of enjoying many of the joys life has to offer, through no fault of their own they lived their lives waiting to die. But even in the end. they remain powerless against time; they can neither go back to recover the life they had lost, nor even to hurry up their decay so they may be put out of their misery. What makes it so horrifying is that it's not torture in the true sense of the word - it does not involve pain. It's a maddening numbness that makes you beg for while simultaneously denying any kind of stimulus, even pain. This image too - on one hand I'm glad for them because they are together and the relationship they have is so beautiful; but on the other hand, that darkness they are about to walk into is where they will die a slow, agonizing-in-a-near-incomprehensible-sense death. It looks to me from the painting like they know it too. I was not fully aware of these themes as I played the game because I was not fully aware of Ariane and Elster's fate, but in retrospect... it gives me chills. This is more terrifying to me than any possible depiction of a cosmic, malevolent being, which I was expecting ever since I saw the King in Yellow mentioned in a demo of the game about a year ago. This game - this work of art - has taken its place in my nightmares.

After the credits are over, when you are sent back to the main menu, Elster now looks dead and her eye looks like it lost its light. You have to press the continue option. At first it looks like you're starting the game all over again but if you keep going you'll quickly realize that a lot has changed.

What i loved about Signalis wasn't only the horror aspect or the visuals, but the underlying tragedy between Elster and Arianne. SPOILERS BELOW: Arianne accepting the mission to go to a different, unknown planet, just to get away from the abuse due to being different in some minor things. And with Elster with her, for a moment it felt like a tiny escape between the two where they can be at peace. And then it all falls apart in a horrific way. The ship's radiation poisons her, and she's forced to stay bedridden. And what's worse, she can't seem to die and her drifting memories alter the rest of the crew. We, as Elster, can only put her out of her misery by killing her (the promise she made to Arianne). All while the strange planet itself also warps the station into a place similar to Silent Hill.

After everything, they deserve a happy ending. All they wanted was to be free. Free of the society that saw them as commodities instead of people. To be in a space where they could be with people who could value them for who they are, and see the beauty in their love. The ending was so cruel, and heartbreaking, and yet, in some twisted way, strangely beautiful. Signalis is a friggin' masterpiece.

The music pairs so well with how the story unfolds. Every single time I hear the piano, its somber tune, I start to feel feelings I've never thought I was capable of feeling. Emptiness is truly a perfect descriptor of this song, as well as the game. Never before has a game instilled such feelings in me before. Mere pixels, sure, but what laid behind them was what stuck deeply with me. I came looking for tall android waifu, stayed for the master-craft story, and cried for what was never meant to be. 10/10 game, perhaps a game of similar caliber will never be created. I hope for a game set in the same universe. I really do. Signalis's universe is very interesting. I think the page on Elster and Ariane, alongside Leng's mine have closed though simply due to the nature of the game being based on mystery. Oddly nice when building shelves.

The fake ending sequence is straight up one of the best cutscenes I've ever seen. This soundtrack and the overall execution of the cutscene (which borrows prime Studio SHAFT's style) actually made me think the game ended right then and there, with me (the player) and Elster being unable to reach whatever we were trying to, and actually giving up. For once, I'm glad I got baited. This game is definitely something else. It can get restrictive at times and it may not be that innovative, but the ambience, the mystery and the game's aesthetic really make it worth it.

This is the most beautiful thing I've come across. I love the reworking of Rachmaninoff's work into this type of somber piano sound. The people who made this ost deserve an award

this song stuck in my head since the first time i heard it and whenever i think of signalis i start hearing these piano and low ambient sounds, this is perhaps my most favorite ost in the whole game and the one i have and will remember by heart forever ❤ thank you Yuri and Barbara, and everyone who was involved in production for this wonderful experience

The original painting(s) are from *Arnold Böcklin.* He made five different versions of the painting. However - this particular iteration is not from him. But one can see, that it is clearly based upon his third version from 1883. I think, that should have been included in the video's description.

Why is this so good? Reminiscent and foreign at the same time, like I've been here before but I don't know where I am. Fits the game perfectly, kudos to the devs.

i beated Signalis on launch day and thought it was a fantastic game, but having replayed it some time later truly made me fell in love with the characters, the music, the art it takes inspiration and of course, the music The music in this game is such a great and incredible experience to listen even outside of the game and i firmly believe that this one is the music that have moved me after a long time i cant understate how great and fantastic this experience is, it refuses to leave my head any time of the day and even went beyond to surpass my favorite game of all time

Yes... Yes, it is. I'd say it's one of the best games to come out this year. It's a proper example of how games can be more than just a quick way to kill some time. A true work of art.

... I was literally thinking, okay now the piano is about to come in... no wait, that's a Silent Hill 2 song... wait, there it is... this melody is from a Signalis song? Is my memory okay? How could I be wrong about Silent Hill 2? Me getting excited to admit that mistake is the best possible compliment I can pay this game's music. The sensation of feeling like this song is from the wrong game perfectly matches the feeling both games so beautifully capture in their own unique ways. ... Beautiful incoherence, sadness, and loneliness... the whole world is wrong and I'm the only one who notices. ... My friends aren't MY friends anymore, my friends are far away now. I'm not me anymore either... I'm just here... somewhere. But where? And why? The time has evaporated, the person I once was is now and forever a corrupted memory. All the people I ever knew are only a feeling that flickers in and out of the corner of my eye. My mind has betrayed me, I can't hold on to the illusion. Reality is washing away my perception with cold and cruel waves of indifference. The people who cared never existed, they were mere imitations who were presented an image and told by some chaotic calculation to imitate it, and so they did. Now the image is gone... and so are they. ... Taken by another force in the billowing cascades of time. Eternity renders me ellipse.
