This is a sad tragedy. I am a Private Security Patrol Officer and I am deeply saddened by this. People laugh at us, call us flash light cops, and disrespect us. We still show up to work day after day to guard people and property. Many of us take pride in our work. And yes we do know that we are not Police or Law Enforcement officers. The likelihood is that this guard was a level II guard meaning he was unarmed. If so he never stood a chance. Since the reporting on this is so vague, I’m not sure. The bottom line is that in high risk posts such as retail outlets it should be mandatory that the guard be level III armed and properly trained. We are told to use verbal judo, we are told to diffuse the situation. You can’t verbalize to stupid and selfish juveniles with a gun. Police Officers have qualified immunity and lots of training. We are told to observe and report, to deter the criminals and protect people and property. The problem is that we are barely allowed to protect ourselves. The Security industry needs reform and to better train, equip and protect the people they send out to these high risks posts. The problem is that Security companies just want profit and truly couldn’t care less about us. This man made a fraction of what a police officer would make and should still be alive. He paid the ultimate sacrifice for what? My sincere condolences and prayers go out to this man’s family, friends and associates. To his security company; DO NOT FORGET HIM, SAY HIS NAME DAILY! I notice CVS is noticeably silent. At least issue a statement of condolence. Respect this man and honor him. He is a hero in my book.

Hahahahahaha. Cops don't write speeding tickets based on what I've seen. It's most likely the usual suspects here.
