Nice review, you pointed out some good differences between the bench seat and this one. I agree, this is a pretty good seat. Cheers.

Hello Rob, I am rarely a fan of OEM seats. The only examples I can think of that I am OK with are the Yamaha FZ1 (Gen 1), and the VSTrom 1000. Almost every bike I find them uncomfortable and look for aftermarket solutions. I am surprised that there are multiple great seats for the 390 Adventure. - Frank

Which one of the seats are you going to give me if I get a 390 Adventure? 🤣. I’ve been rewatching your 390 videos to see if I can talk myself into it. My biggest concern remains getting the bike to fit & the cost to do so… The list of changes I might need to make include: - straightened lowered pegs - bar risers - possible new bars (could potentially eliminate the need for risers) - tall seat Other changes I’d want to make based on need and your reviews: - Tusk Pannier racks - rear rack compatible with the Tusk pannier racks that is already drilled for Rotopax - new chain early (assume sprockets would be ok) - Tires after TKC70s wear out - Windscreen - add heated grips - real Barkbusters - consider upgraded skid plate

Hello Tim, I think you will prefer the ego seat, so I would send that. Its wider and almost as tall. I do not believe the small difference would make up for the width for the way you want to use Bike 03. I would recommend the Pro taper Adventure Mid bars. I wish I had gone mid with mine. You need new clamps, and JFG has ones with multiple risers, so you can go from no rise to over and inch, your choice. To start with though, I can send you my risers I used with the stock bars. I also have official Barkbusters for the stock bars, including the Storm covers you familiar with. I would go Givi racks if doing it over, but you are already invested in Tusk bags. I am 99% sure the hole sin the Tusk rear rack is perfect for a rotopax mount. Absolutely grab a new chain. The sprockets are good. All the big brand, good tires are available for the bike. Honestly, you will get 10K out of the TKC70, and they are (IMHO) a good tire. I can send you my 7710D, or you can order the Givi you already know you like! OMG getting the heated grip on the Protaper bars I bought required a rubber mallet! Matt said he had to fight it on as well. (Protapers) I can send you an AxP skidplate, it's all you will need as you do not have the rocks I have here. You will probably want pod lights as well. Several mounts for the front of the bike, and the crash bars are not a great spot on this bike to mount them. - Frank

I ordered the ergo seat, but it's backordered for 6 months. One idea I have heard of doing to eliminate the rear seat step is to remove the cover from it, shave down the foam, and re-attach the cover. I might try this after my ergo arrives.

Hello Bac, that would work. I think I may consider the Black Dog rear rack, it replaces the rear seat. - Frank

This sounds so enticing I went to purchase one but after reading reviews everyone claims it's no better than stock. I want to believe you maybe the other purchasers didn't give it a bit of time to break in? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks Scott
@OneOldManRiding

Hello Scott, for me, the seat is superior. The padding is more comfortable over time and noticeably holding up better than the stock. I did feel it was stiffer at first, and honestly still is compared to the one that shipped. But that's a good thing IMHO. Stiffer means more support, not less comfortable. Everyone has their own experience, but it's clearly a superior experience for me. Thanks for stopping by! - Frank

@@OneOldManRiding Thank you for your response. I found th one piece seat also took a bit to break in but still retains a bit of rigidity. Figure I'll purchase the ergo for roads then swap out when riding tug hill trails. The one piece ergo seems to put me in a rider forward position on the road which is fine cornering but not as much when you have a chance to just sit back and enjoy on the flats. Luv the vids. Keep'em coming. Scott

@@scottporter0069 hello Scott, I keep the one piece seat, with the intention of using it off road. It's certainly better for gripping. The Ergo has no grip on the sides. - Frank

Sounds good for me, any idea if the Ergo pillion seat has a chance at reducing my wife's complaining about the rear seat? Hard to tell from just photos, local dealer will order for me but not stock it.

Thanks, that part of the seat looks good, but it also looks like the 'backrest for the driver' insert is some kind of hard rubber or something. No one in the shop here has seen one and unlike in the US, if they order it, I bought it, regardless what it looks like in person. Maybe another viewer has one, or at least seen one in person. Steve

I just installed the one piece seat and the height is noticeable. I'm 6'4"and installed the seat to improve my leg position but I'm more in the wind and it's effecting my rpm's at highway speeds. I'm going to order the Givi windshield and hopefully that will help. Plus I find the one piece seat really uncomfortable compared to the oem. I'm a little disappointed so far.

Okay ... now I'm on the fence again. I mean, it's an excellent vid with clear conclusions, but the failure is wholly on my part. So, the seat is on hold. NEXT! I see you have some nice large and level pegs, but Holy Kraftfahrzeug Trunkenpolz Mattighofen, they're not ORANGE!!! What are you trying to peddle here son?!?! Now, I'm looking at reputable venders who sell proper citrusy-colored products. In an attempt to be serious, do you have an opinion of a brand that would better suit my special hue-centric needs? Thanks again, S
