Videos like this are fun to watch. I see this, and think, Wow! BUT, but, but, but…. I don’t watch this video and think about how great the vine is, I think about how great the rider is. I think this same rider could do this same stuff on an awful lot of motorcycles. The rider is super impressive!! Honestly, I want to see an average rider, do average things on the bike. Take it 200 miles on pavement, then 200 miles off pavement, with some technical parts here and there. How easy is it for the average, 50 year old, with just a few years experience, to load up, and go motocamping for several days on a BDR, or something similar? Just my thoughts….

Intitiallly I was hoping to get R. Later after a research I understood that R is more off road focused ie, it won't be good in road. S will be an ideal choice. It work best in both world. R is more expensive, doesn't mean its the best. Any KTM R ownere here? Please share your thougts. And Frank, its a mind-blowing cinematography! I dont know how many times I watched! Great music, cinematography, cool rider, and the story line. I liked it.

Nope. Not buying it. The video for the ADV is more extreme than for the Enduro…. And both of them are make believe based on a Duke and a budget price. There’s no such thing as a free lunch. ….. but I’d be happy if I was wrong, my current ‘23 KTM 1290R is insanely good.

I plan to ride the bike as depicted in the video. I sold my 890 Rally this past summer. I rode it everywhere with small bikes around me. Then one day realized I was tired and why was I working so hard. Yes it was time to reflect on my age (62) and my fitness level. I wasn't at A game level. Time for a smaller bike. Thankful I didn't purchase anything else yet. I want a 100lbs lighter 890. This looks like it is going to be a winner. Backhoe scene makes sense to those of us without a lot of riding area. We tend to make our own paths when we need to. Deposit is in. Waiting to see what accessories become available. Skid plate on the video looks like its an add on.
@mark-lj5dcКүн бұрын
I don't get it. The KTM video has no connection whatsoever to how 99% of 390A owners will actually ride. The way you were pottering through the mud puddles in your last video is how most of us use our 390A's - that and as road bikes (sealed and otherwise). If the new 390 is good at jumps and log hopping it probably will be tall and stiffly sprung and not so good at exploring back roads
@OneOldManRidingКүн бұрын
Hello Mark, I agree with you! I cannot imagine anyone riding like this on an ADV bike. It's cool to watch though! (IMHO) I think that bike is in BAD shape after this shoot! Those forks hit a LOT and I would be surprised if the rear shock held up! Thank you for stopping by and commenting! - Frank

I really don't understand why people are buying this based off of the commercial alone. I feel they are way too late with this bike considering the options out there. Typical KTM trying to claw out of bankruptcy.

Here in India they released a slightly different spec 390 adv, instead of R, we get 390 adv S version. difference is 17/21 wheel size instead of 18/21, slightly reduced suspension travel and ground clearance but not significant because of the wheel size . 835mm seat height instead of 870mm. also it's tubeless spoke wheels similar to that of 890Advs and rest are same, and X is same as international variant but will be available here along with the S variant because it's manufactured here. KTM said R will be launched here too but only later in the year

@HkmmotologsКүн бұрын
@@OneOldManRiding I think they will release the S version worldwide later as well, KTM has this habit of delayed release of same model in such a long interval. All coming from same factory and production and this strategy doesn't make sense especially at their financial crisis time
@OneOldManRidingКүн бұрын
@@Hkmmotologs Hopefully you are correct. I own a 790 Adventure R, and its seat height is lower than the 390 Adventure R. Thats a tall bike, and above the comfort level of many riders. - Frank
@HkmmotologsКүн бұрын
@@OneOldManRiding hopefully this time they won't go for a long gap between release time.. even for a tall rider the lower seat height is better than anything above 840 is uncomfortable and impractical for any size rider. I am 6'2" and I can flat foot 390advs and GS' models 855 plus ride height but it's not ideal for a day to day city ride, let's be honest even the most adventurous rider is not going to ride it on trails all the time and 80% of the owners will be riding it 50-50 off-road - city riders at best.

One BIG thing that I think needed to be noted that no one is talking about, (this is per the dealer near me) how the bike is shown with handguards and that skid plate is how it comes for that price, also the engine sits about 4 inches higher in the frame than the duke 390. This is a banger of a deal and personally put down a deposit for when they come in.

@lastsonofkrypton363 күн бұрын
Now that we see that the 390 Adventure R is going to cost a little more than the Enduro, the Enduro seems like maybe the better "adventure" bike. You get a 21" wheel, spoked wheels, less weight, and less cost.

I don't get why you're complaining... The road is great, it's a scenic route, of course there's gonna be tourist and not a 100mph speed limit. The low speed limit means you get to enjoy the view! Also, YOU WERE A TOURIST... So why you bitching about the cars, they have the right to be there also and enjoy the view. I hate people doing scenic rides on a motorcycle and complaining about low speed or the fact the route has tourists on it... That's also the reason you're there man (and probably that the cars are saying "not another motorcycle that wants to go 120 in a 45 zone)... Come on

Ducati desert 280mm, Aprilia tuareg 240mm , ktm 890 -263mm , Honda Africa twin 220mm etc..... pareciendo motos mas grandes tienen menos distancia libre al suelo. un saludo
