don't worry! They are eating! they look great and I can see a hint of orange right behind their heads which is the brine shrimp in their tummies :) you're doing great!

oh good! i was hoping that was the case, but i also read that with albinos you can see the organs - that's what i thought i was seeing, i stare at them for 5-10 minutes at a time and don't see them feeding, maybe i need a microscope! hah

Greg Jones I know what you mean, I worried they weren't eating when I first bred mine! It's hard to see!

Hi I have recently bought some axolotl eggs and they hatched they have been out of there eggs for 4 days but I worried they are not eating! Two are floating due to air bubbles how and why ? The water is pristine and dechlorinated and temp is fine? How do I know they are eating they are all moving as well. HELP!!!

I love this project . They are so cool

Take a close look at your albinos, their bellies have bright red spots which indicates that they are feeding. You may want to separate your albinos and your wild type as wild type have a tenancy to be hyper aggressive towards other morphs (albino, leucistic, etc.) when it comes to cannibalism.

Forrest, small world buddy! You have some of these egg's siblings!!! They are from the same groups!

I was thinking that when I watched the video and saw the upload date lol! All mine have hatched and are happily munching on Daphnia Moina 2x daily for a few days now. Can't wait to keep up on their siblings here on KZbin!

Forrestt Eldridge yeah it'll be a cool thing to watch them all grow and see the differences between each others. Greg is feeding on bbs, you're feeding on daphnia, in feeding on really finely chopped blackworms(I only kept a few so I'm not hatching bbs for only a couple babies lol)

Usually when they jump forward or swim a bit at random intervals is when they are eating the shrimp

I know this is a little late for these guys but axolotls have evolved over their existence where they get stressed out from moving currents because the lake in Mexico that their from is stagnant with no current so when they feed don't have the fan on
@MrTheWaterbear8 жыл бұрын
Can't you just mix a colony of live daphnia with the axoltls? You can do water changes through a fine mesh net with a turkey baster so you don't waste the daphnia :) But brine shrimp are slightly better food, so good on you you went for the tougher but better option!

Mine have been dying constantly since hatching. I've been offering brine shrimp and they won't eat. They won't grow either. I only have like 3 left alive and idk what's wrong. Temp stays relatively cool, everything seems right. I use seachem prime for the water, idk what else to do.

Sorry that you went through this man. Know it was a whole ago but did you figure out what was wrong? I'm currently in the same boat (2 left) but my adult just laid another clutch so I'm trying to find better ways to do it.

I ordered eggs. And got them Monday. They're not due to hatch for another week well i had one hatch during shipment and he is really really small. I wasn't sure when he hatched so I tried feeding yesterday and tonight BBS. He's still not eating and I'm getting very worried. A friend of mine got eggs from the same clutch and she had 3 preemies that didn't make it and mine has been swimming and laying normal.. How can I get him to eat? Keep trying? Any help would be appreciated
@gregjonesonline6 жыл бұрын
if it hatched prematurely its likely still eating egg yolk, he may not survive or he may be fine. when the yolk is gone they will sit upright and dart around, that's when they will start to eat bbs
@boxermommy22able6 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! I appreciate that. I hope it survives.
