398th Engineer General Service Regiment: Part VII - Luxembourg and the Battle of the Bulge

Personal note: Born just 15 years after the war, I grew up in Luxembourg. (Actually had family very near those places) So I am very aware and thankful to all the people like your grandfather. They kept me from growing up in a brown shirt doing nazi salutes. Literally. Also, When I was young, every single adult was a witness (...and oh, all the stories...). But now almost all of those have died, with endless stories and historical information. So videos like this help preserve history; thanks.

My great-grandfather was in the 398th company B, Raymond Turner, he never talked to anyone about the war but being a history buff I stumbled across his paperwork and pictures, and just happened to find this video. I’ve struggled to find much info on them, please let me know if there’s any other resources! All I’ve found is a book published online “History of the 398th engineer regiment”

That book really tells A LOT! It's sort of like their yearbook. Co B was 1st BN.

I found the name Warren Guidry. He was in Company A.

Hi Everyone, my Dad, also named Joe Miga was in Company D. I have a photo of the whole Company D. I have the book and the unclassified papers about the 398th Engineers. I see Lt. Wesley Bogart's name. Ralph Hodash was in Company E. Wally Johnson was in Company D. I could not find Warren Gidry. I may have the name wrong. My Dad was the one injured around Jan 5-6, 1945, when the other 2 men died. I have other pictures to share. Is there any way to get a message to the man in the video?
