The people leaving horrible comments for Danielle on this video are truly appalling! This woman does everything for Grandpa Ed, he has an amazing quality of life with them and most of us could only imagine how hard this is. Grandpa doesn't go to Marks anymore so there are ZERO days off for Dan and Danielle. Anyone that has ever been constantly woken out of sleep , tell me if you sounded happy? The lady is tired here! It doesnt mean she doesnt love or care for him, she is being short and direct so as not to distract him or pull him into conversation, just leading him back to bed. Like you would a toddler in this situation. You mean commenters need to tale a good look at yourself and ask yourself what you are doing to help others. This is the toughest thing to deal with, and you are not helping leaving snarky comments.

Danielle, I'm truly surprised that Dan woke up to tend to grandpa. Its the momma instincts that kick in and wake you up hearing him stiring around that never leaves a women after shes had childern and one of the reasons we are tired and our patience wears thin sometimes. My father had both dementia and Alzheimer's and he was a full blown handful. He passed Sept 30th, 2021 and didnt recognize anyone in our family except my step mom who he was married to for 52 years. I give you alot of credit taking on this task and people who are freely giving advice on how you should behave and act have no fricken idea or clue what its like until they have put on those shoes and walked down the path that your family has. May God bless you all.

Loved ones like Danielle, Dan n yourself have a great reward waiting on you. Thank you again for your kind and meaningful words, The Salinger Family means sooo much to me they are a lovely patient family, Grandpa is sooo sweet and loving too moments like this are hard but God's got them coveted. Well written, people talk and they do not even know what is going on. My mom passed in June at 111 years old. So when I give credit to Danielle is because I want to honor those who are or in my case were there helping us. Its not easy for Danielle or Dan, but they are hanging in there for their love and respect for Dr. Salinger. I do not like to write but when I read people only criticizing, my lioness comes out.❤❤

@@mrsdsalnorcal I've replied to several of your videos and this is my 1st that you commented back on and I feel honored and special. Thank You!!! Just know that as Grandpa's journey continues it will get more difficult. He's always been very appreciative and kind in his remarks communicating with the family but there may come a day where he flips the script. It's the disease not the man and dont take it personally. You are a very amazing lady and Dan's very lucky to have you. I enjoy the bantering back and forth between ya'll. I say its kept you both in love and happy or it wouldnt have lasted this long. Continued prayers dear one.

This is frightening because with dementia are not aware of the danger backing into things or falling done when others are asleep and not aware of their walking around the house or even leaving the house without anyone knowing. This is the toughest times for the family. I give credit to Dan and Danielle that must be aware of Grandpa Ed doing this. Bless you both and take time to rest when you can. I have so much respect for you, and Dan. Taking care of Ed. It was like that with my dad who had Alzheimer’s, dementia, and Parkinson’s. I don’t think he ever tried to wander the hallways of the assisted living facility where he lived. Because every time he would try to stand up on his own. He’d fall. It was sad when I’d visit him, and he would beg me to help him up. But, I have a physical disability, and severe multiple back problems. That requires me to use a wheelchair. He didn’t want the caregivers/CNAs to help him up. Because he didn’t trust them. My great-aunt had Alzheimer’s too. But, she was a wanderer. She’d wander out late at night in her nightgown, and my great-uncle would have to go looking for her. They live in a small mountain town that gets a lot of snow in the winter. So, my great-aunt going out in that kind of weather was always worrisome, for my great-uncle.

My dad would wander around, and I absolutely regret not getting him a bed with railings so he would not be able to get up out of bed at night. One night, he got up when we were all asleep, fell down, broke some ribs, and with his heart issues, he passed away within a month. I always feel guilty about this because I know he would have lived much longer if didn't fall. He was 88, but so full of life. So I know it may seem like you are taking away dad's freedom, but wandering around unsupervised at night is much, much worse. Sending love and prayers from Florida! ❣
