Absolut! Ich bin seit meiner Kindheit ein sehr großer Fan von Kati und überhaupt vom Eiskunstauf. Es ist der schönste Sport der Welt. Sie kommt ja aus meiner Heimatstadt, dem damaligen Karl- Marx- Stadt. Die Kür der Damen bei der WM 87' in Cinncinati, habe ich auch nachts live am Fernsehen geschaut, es war immer so spannend. Wenn sie wieder zurück war, von Weltmeisterschaften und Olympischen Winterspielen, haben wir Ihr hier zu Hause, immer einen riesigen Empfang bereitet, es war jedesmal so toll. Habe Ihr damals auch ab und zu beim Training zugeschaut. Kati, ist mit ihrem Charme und ihrer Ausstrahlung bis heute nicht zu toppen. 👍❤

It wasn't too bad in Calgary since her only mistake was doubling the triple loop, but 88 Worlds was really where she faltered since her doubled both the loop and 2nd salchow. I'm a huge Katarina stan, but I personally would've given that world title to Elizabeth Manley. I really miss when Katerina had her double lutz and double flip in her programs, it would've added more variety in her later career even if they weren't triples. Opening with a double lutz + triple toe and adding a double flip to her 2nd triple toe would've still added more difficulty

I did, and still do have a crush on her (I'm straight). Even though her jumps are no comparison to the girls nowadays, or even in the 90s, she was the ultimate performer and commands your attention whenever she's on the ice. She and Yuna Kim still remain as my favorites, and I would rather watch a skating performance rather than a program that is packed with jumps

The 3 loop did it combined with the music that really suited her . Quite frankly she reaffirmed to the judges that she was still technically strong and she was able to leverage this performance into Calgary where she really underperformed . Without this great win the judges would not have given her a pass in Calgary I think . She won Calgary because she won here

This is the best Witt ever skated. I remember hearing Katarina in a different interview saying- 'I want my title back'- it had a fierceness that was a little spooky...and Debbie was heard to say- 'The girl's on fire' after Katarina's skate.

@@davidbrody8713 she was under SO much pressure at Calgary- East German officials told her before the Games- 'if you don't win- you won't be allowed out of the country again'. She's talked about that in interviews and how before the long program- to keep from shaking, she kept applying make up- she tended to be made up, but her Calgary long program- she looked a little clownish.

Still Calgary was a weak performance and Manley should have won. It was great to see her here skating last with such speed and guts

@@SG-mw1ey the long program was worth 50% of the final score- Manley DID win the long program, but her figures- 20% and short program 30% were a few places below Witt- and Debbie- she pulled up to 2nd with a great long program- the gold medal is a combo of the 3- not just the long program.

Katarina feels the music in every program she presents, she is one with the music. And this how she is until now simply the best. Currently the new generation present 3 and 4 loop jumps, but in my opinionr you see no artistic impressions.
