Just like Skyen said about the depth in Millie's character, people criticize Millie for not having too much focus, but she really does not need to overcome any "struggles", she is the glue of the team always their to balance the group full of these traumatized weirdos. This episode did wonders because they presented how in the past Millie had to overcome her imposter symdrome and now she feels very comfortable with the big city without trying to force a unnecessary conflict based on trauma.

On ace stuff, as an ace person: It is also always important to remember that the actual defining characteristic of ace people is a lack of sexual attraction. It is not a repulsion to sexual activity or even a lack of sexuality per se, just... no gender triggers desire by existing (or... uh.. however y'all experience sexual attraction.) So simply eliminating sexuality is not actually inclusive of ace people, it's actually orthogonal to ace people. (In fact, the usual targets are things like bdsm that many ace people are actually quite active with -- it tickles a related but different part of the brain. To me these critiques often feel more like left sexual shame from conservative upbringings that hasn't been dealt with and is then turned against their own community, and is justified by claims of identity.)

Very well said actually, as asexual myself. Though, unfortunately, i do feel disgust towards sexual activities with people almost all the time, with a very few exceptions. But that is, i guess, simply because almost all times i had to be intimate with someone, it was forced on me as "yeah, i get you're an ace, but i have needs and if you don't want to satisfy them from time to time, than you don't appreciate me and don't love me", which is messed up. I only had two people in my life with whom i am quite comfortable having intercourse, though i still don't enjoy it physically, only emotionally, if the circumstances are right. But those who literally forced me to satisfy their needs did make me feel really bitter and disgusted about the whole thing, and i have some really unpleasant memories about it. Something I haven't seen get brought up yet (tbf there's a lot to unpack this episode) is how this "infestor demon" is clearly from Envy. We already knew Envy was an aquatic-themed ring with native demons looking like fish, but its interesting to see this psychological theme with them. Before, we only really saw the shark demons being hired as goons in Greed, which makes sense thematically: demons of Envy are gonna be envious of the rich and powerful so of course they're gonna go to Greed to make some money. This more psychological aspect to them also makes a lot of thematic sense: the sin of Envy isn't just about being jealous of someone having something you don't have, its about wanting to take it away from them out of pure spite. Its this mentality of "If I have to suffer, so does everyone else". And what does this infestor demon try to do? He sees Blitz's friendship with Millie and tries to ruin it, he tells Blitz that he doesn't deserve happiness, he tries to corrupt and destroy something Blitz has that the infestor doesn't. The infestor's surprise at Millie not giving a shit about his words shows he doesn't understand their friendship which implies he doesn't have this kind of bond with anyone himself.

One of my favorite things about this episode is the power scaling, funnily enough. Rolando having some actual spooky demon powers, conveyed through the same cinematic horror language that Stolas’s entry in Truth Seekers was, emphasized how low imps’ standing in Hell is. If a single demon of a more average station could pull all this off, it lends a lot of credence to how impressive Blitz’s and the rest of IMP’s struggle to make it to a Pride Ring penthouse office was.

She's always had the element of "scary sexy woman is gonna step on you" but more emphasis is on what's doing the stepping with each successive game. I think I can explain the eyes and the alt Millies. I think those specific Millie visuals were chosen because they're easily recognizable events in which Millie could have died that Blitz knew of. The doorway Millie from the trailer has glass from the father in Murder Family smashing her over the head with a bottle. The rope is from how she and Blitz were tied up. The one on fire you can tell is from Loo Loo Land by the outfit, and of course Blitz set that shit on fire. The pink one I presume is from Spring Breakers, wet and logged and goopy like she was partially digested maybe? The one with glowing arrows is obviously shot through by Cherubs. You can tell the Millie from Harvest Moon by her outfit, she's limping from the bear trap and her broken arm has both ends of the bone jutting out. She was actually injured in that instance, which may be why she looks less fantastical and more gruesome. The other instances Blitz knows of her being in danger are Truth Seekers, Seeing Stars, Exes and Oohs, Western Energy, and Unhappy Campers (he was unaware of the others' Full Moon shenanigans). Truth Seekers and Exes can both be ignored because it's Moxxie she's putting herself in danger for, not him. Unhappy Campers too probably for similar reasons and how focused he was on his sister, not thinking bout work at all. Seeing Stars and Western Energy Blitz wasn't with her and she returned just fine, so his brain didn't have an easy recognizable go-to for how she could have died. Maybe that's represented by the faceless and then freakishly crushed one, standing in (figuratively speaking) for all the things he wasn't there to see. A lot of the eye stuff in relation to Hell specifically is very basically it's showing that Hell itself is alive somehow, connected to the Root of all Evil (Martha worshiped that and had eye things hanging around everywhere and the associated emblem on top of the obelisk she tied Millie and Blitz to) The backgrounds of Helluva Boss have actually shown this influence spreading. At first, we only see actual eyes and not just imagery in Pride. Up to Full Moon they weren't in any other Rings. But Full Moon and Apology Tour show that now both Greed and Lust have eyes. As of yet no other Ring has had actual eyes. But Millie's parents' house has eye wallpaper and Martha specifically mentioned Satan so that may be connected. Hope that made sense? And helped at all?

I don’t know if you take suggestions, but I’d recommend murder drones. It’s an 8 episode series by GLITCH and Liam Vickers on KZbin. It’s 3d animated so I’m curious what if anything you’d have to add to it compared to a 2d show like this. Plus since you have a great eye for detail you’d have plenty to search for since they love sneaking in tiny hints all the time. The pilot doesn’t feel like it holds up as well as the rest of the series, but the show is amazing!

The bit around 2:15:00 made me think of a potential future episode of Cash just popping back up in Blitz's life to try and guilt trip him into supporting him. Just this greedy old man, maybe Blitz folding to him a bit, likely ending with standing up to his abusive father. Dunno if that's something we get, but it sounds like a fairly standard sort of episode. Know the future planned seasons will have different arcs to them, so we'll see where that goes.

1:02:10 huh.... my roomate has diagnosed adhd and the way she described it I always felt like I wouldn't "count" but the things you mention in these reactions always make me 2nd guess that.... I've slept because I didn't know how to exist, I had massive impulse-spending problems (gacha...) and still do a little, when I'm tired from a few busy days I stay in bed and indulge in media - but it doesn't rly feel good, it just..... idk its better than any alternative I can think of I guess. But I have almost nothing of the "typical" things you'd think of. I almost never misplace anything (in fact my roommate often asked me where sth was and I could tell her exactly where - unless she stole it into her room and forgot haha), I love organising and keeping things clean, and while I do procrastinate my "oh shit i gotta start" alarm starts way earlier than I witness in other people. I'll definitely bring it up with my psychiatrist next session but mannnn I really don't want to be wrong and find out that this is just how neurotypical people function and I've been a whiny baby about it TvT ANYWAY. ENOUGH ABT THAT

Granted, I may be biased due to having thoughts about Millie in general (insert Spike Spiegel quote here). I do also appreciate the discussion about character designs being horny or erotic without being overtly sexualized or titillating. That's a mood I tend to aim for a lot whenever I actually get the energy to draw up a character design - enticing/alluring based on vibes without necessarily needing to put a big "LOOK HERE↴" design signifier on a character's sexual characteristics.
