@UselessMinx2 ай бұрын
You guys are a life saver. Anticipating for your videos really helps the Sunday anxiety like nothing else ever has. You’re such dedicated pet parents, I feel obliged to tell you that my dog has just had surgery as a direct result of Librella. I would have been singing it’s praises last month but not anymore. Don’t want to scare you, especially since she’s been on it for three years before we noticed anything wrong, but she never would have needed hip surgery to remove the top of her femur if it weren’t for me giving her the Librella and I am so gutted over it but there’s barely anything in the literature yet to even read about, so most vets just don’t know yet. But the surgeon who had to deal with it says he sees it far too often these days and there will be a lot more heard about it soon. We got very lucky with having a renowned orthopaedic surgeon in Galway. I can give you vet details if you wanted to speak with them directly to learn the risks specifically for AJ. Thought you might want to know since I really wish someone had warned me back in the early days. ❤
@SonetLandman2 ай бұрын
What is Librella?
@UselessMinx2 ай бұрын
@@SonetLandman it’s an injectable arthritis treatment made by Zoetis. It’s an antibody that blocks nerve growth factor but although it sounded great when it was new, human trials failed as unsafe because it made hip replacements in humans 300% more likely to fail. It caused my dog’s hip bone to deform and double in size (surgeon said that for an xray that bad he’d have thought it was bone cancer if we hadn’t told him she was in librela, which explained it). Was wonderful to see her not in pain on it, but they didn’t do the follow up studies on the pets and now zoetis’ CEO is defending how safe the drug is saying that the volume of doses dispensed speaks for itself. My dog has been on it for 3 years before she needed surgery and it’s been on the market 3 years - for those that started later, they might look fine for now. It’s definitely not enough time for the real impact to have been felt yet. The only reason I mentioned here is that Librella came up on a recent video and I felt obliged to share my puppy’s experience in case it helps anyone else

It could have been a non breathable render on the cottage such as concrete.. unfortunately a lot of stone buildings were rendered in concrete decades ago before it was realised by people that lime and stone needs to breathe. I recall a whole renovation job on an old church not far from me having to be undone and redone in lime mortar because concrete had been used in the initial renovation. People are more aware of what's needed to restore those old buildings now..
