Hi. May what buttercream did hou use?
@CakeDecoratingSchool3 жыл бұрын
We are using a Simple or American style buttercream. It is made with butter, powdered sugar and some liquid(usually milk). there are a bunch of great recipes on the web. We like it for beginners since it's an easy method, takes color well. It is less expensive to make than an italian or swiss buttercream which makes it a great way to practice working with a butter based frosting with out braking the bank! Happy Decorating!

Hi! I am attempting these and I am having a very difficult time getting the white petals very thin like yours... Is your butter cream more stiff? I am using the 104 tip
@CakeDecoratingSchool2 жыл бұрын
Hi! we are using a 104 for the petals. The frosting we are using isn't particularly firm, it's the same one we use to do all of our flower demos. There could be several reasons for a thicker petal, including using softer frosting, too much pressure, and moving too slowly when piping. I would start with trying a little less pressure on the bag and see if that helps some and then move from there if it doesn't help. Hope this is helpful. cheers and happy decorating!

May i ask what piping nozzles you’re using to make this orchid?
@CakeDecoratingSchool3 жыл бұрын
We used tips 104 for larger oetals, 101 for smaller(pink0 petals, 4 for green center and a 1ip for the dots on the petals. Hope this helps and happy decorating!

Do you just freeze the flowers to get them stiff enough to hold?
@CakeDecoratingSchool2 жыл бұрын
I usually just put mine in the fridge until they are firm. But we are in a cooler area for most of the year and we have ac for when it gets hot. If you are in a warmer climate, don't have climate control, or just want a longer window to work with them you can freeze them if you prefer.
