I think it can be a useful method for anyone that is looking to improve their decorating skills, which, can be applied to a lot of pastries not just cake. I think the key if you aren't doing this kind of work frequently is to keep some note about your progress and your goals so that when you do have a decorating project you know what you want to work on. You'll definitely see improvement faster the more you practice. cheers!
