Dear Splatter Queen - try using a kitchen splatter screen ($1 at Dollar Tree). It’s that screen with a handle you put over a frying pan so you don’t get grease splattered on your stove. Spread some paint in the middle of the screen and then tap over your paper. Makes a lot of nice splatters and its much more controlled (doesn’t fly everywhere). I learned that in my watercolor class. Happy Splattering!!! And I love your videos, thanks for sharing.

Yep, I finally bought a brayer. I got the Speedball after researching other options even though it was more expensive. I figured I would invest in a tool that was a bit more expensive but actually works and saves a lot of frustration. Learned this the hard way from investing in way too MANY cheap kitchen tools and then finally having to buy the pricier one after all because it worked. As they say, buy the best that you can afford. LOL :) Being over 50, I can say that I wish I had done the same earlier on in life.
@PrairiePaperandInk4 жыл бұрын
you're 100% right - I always recommend the "good" (and yes usually more expensive) tools because I've already wasted so much time and money on the cheaper ones. SO. MUCH. MONEY. WASTED. When I started card making though I was so young with young kids and literally no money for hobbies. Looking back though I would have saved money in the long run by getting the better tools etc but we all live and learn!

different consistencies - GinaK's is a thinner glue. Both are great (I have and use both I just reach for the CT the most) so either one will work the same

Question: You use distilled water in your mister bottles, embellishment mousse, etc. Do you use it for watercoloring, too? Or, is it just plain tap water in your cups for clean water, and for rinsing the brushes while you're painting?
@PrairiePaperandInk4 жыл бұрын
usually just tap water when watercoloring - it gets dumped out after so I don't worry about anything growing in it ;) same with rinsing my brushes - I just do that in the sink w tap water

Hey AmyR. I notice you don't use the Big Shot machine anymore, do you prefer this new Spellbinders machine?
@PrairiePaperandInk4 жыл бұрын
I haven't used a BS for years now. I prefer my Gemini for electric and the Spellbinders machines for manual (hand crank) die cutting
@misstasha14 жыл бұрын
@@PrairiePaperandInk WOW!!! Where have I been? What made you leave Big Shot?
@PrairiePaperandInk4 жыл бұрын
many reasons - I broke my BS trying to die cut craft foam (like it BROKE BROKE) which was ridiculous. Then add to it the lawsuits Ellison (parent company) levied against a lot of smaller companies in the last 18months or so (you can google it - there was a rundown on Scrapbook Update) that were baseless imo (not to mention these other small companies are run by families that don't have all the $$ for the insane amounts of legal fees). Anyway - I no longer use or support that brand on my channel or in my own crafting. Just a choice I made when such a huge company decided it was a good idea to try and destroy this industry by brute force IMO
